  1. I'm sorry but really, what's the big deal? Like reeaaalllly, what's the big deal? The picture really isn't that bad, at all. Also, I more care about and am happy that they are putting LPGA player(s) on the cover vs. Paulina who has absolutely 0 to do with the game. Another thing, spend 2 hrs watching a LPGA tournament and you'll see more skin, short skirts / legs than Lexi has in her picture. The reality is, since the beginning of time, woman have always been "willingly" sexualized. Well, maybe less way back in the past then today but in today's world, the key word is willingly...We can debate on the extent to how far the sexualizing goes and IMO, this cover really didn't take it that far. I applaud Lexi for having the confidence to promote herself 1, and 2, promote the LPGA. This is a version of "girl power" that us men don't fully understand and good on Lexi for saying "here I am and "I'm proud of my body and the work I have put in to be here."
  2. Where in my post did I say that? This is a post about Jason and his now ex wife Amanda. Of course ANYONE who goes through a terrible situation like this has its toll taken out on them regardless of looks. That said however, there is no denying the nature of men and our pull towards beauty (or perceived beauty). Many men of many generations at some point in their lives have acted and done ridiculous things for the "pretty girl" and with that fact, "losing the pretty girl" could, in theory, take a tremendous toll. Would it take more of a toll than another guy with the "not so pretty wife," probably not but whatever, it was a harmless comment.
  3. When he steps on the first tee at the Masters, what happens while the gitters are shooting through his body will be the real test. That said, the worst ball 66 is incredibly insane. My boss has played that golf course and he said it was a stern test (and he's played almost all the top 100 courses in the world).
  4. I have to admit, I'm the Rangefinder guy :)
  5. Very true and you are right, it's all speculation. Best of luck to them for sure.
  6. Could be! The only thing from the looks of it, she filed for the divorce.
  7. Maybe he lost the belly / weight because this was going down? When you have a smoke show of a wife and things are going bad and you are losing her, it can definitely take its toll....loss of weight, decline in playing performacne on the course, both things that have certainly happened! When I read "incompatibility of temperament," that makes me wonder. Did he have a temper? Crazy stuff...
  8. I'm willing to bet he does. It's a Major and his favorite tournament. He has taken time off the heal and practice A LOT before it comes around. I'm willing to bet he'll be non stop practicing the next couple of weeks. Long long days of work.
  9. Without any doubt, Tiger would have been skewered if he did this. He has been skewered for far less...
  10. I agree, I think they are hilarious!
  11. The distance between Mars and Earth changes depending on where each is positioned in orbit. At their closest, it's only 56 million kms You launch in November (the only window to launch in the year) and get there around July"ish" the following year. Piece of cake! In all seriousness, I think it's cool 1 and 2, a VERY incredible time in human history that the discussion is even happening. Would I personally go, no. But like anything else in the world, there are people willing to do some crazy things (note the dude who skydived from 90+ feet and the other dude who decided he wanted to beat that and did not too long ago). If these first 100 are that crazy to do this, good on them if that's what they want. There is no denying that Earth isn't a limitless host of resources for human consumption. 50-100 years from now, there better be options or my children and grandchildren one day will be in serious trouble. So, I vote for being optimistic. Yes, it looks like a red planet full of dust and rock but that's looking at it today from a very small picture. Who knows what can happen in the big long term picture, especially if the idea of Terraforming can actually happen.
  12. I am below a 5 and to be completely honest, for me, more of B and within B, literally getting MUCH better at hitting my driver off of the tee. I lose way too many strokes and or do not place myself in good positions off of the tee enough with my driver. Me hitting the driver poorly usually forces me to play overly conservative off of the tee (hitting hybrids, long irons, etc) to try and find the fairway. While this approach works on shorter holes, it also hurts me because: I don't take advantage of the shorter holes by driving it closer to the green so I can have a better chance to score birdie (and have a higher guaranteed percentage to make par). Not hitting driver well enough doesn't allow me take advantage of par 5s more consistently so I can make more birdies. On the long par 4s I leave myself with a much longer second shot which increases my chance of making a bogey (or worst). One the same Long par 4s, if I do decide to hit the driver (because I really have to due to the length of the hole) and I hit an errant drive, the percentage to make bogey increases tremendously because "it's a longer hole and the errant drive really put me behind the eight ball." Keep in mind, when I hit a good drive, distance isn't an issue as I can put it out there. On that same token, long and crooked is detrimental because you reach stuff (out of bounds, water, and other hazards, etc) because the ball will carry further into the crap when it isn't hit on the intended line. There have been many debates in this forum about what rules in the game of golf and it's has been pretty much proven that ball striking is everything in order to play to a very high level. For me, my ball striking isn't perfect but good enough to be below a 5 handicap (and that's without even having good chipping / pitching ability. I can putt though and with that, barely even practice it). I practice mostly on my ball striking and have a above average iron game. The same swing however produces a below average driver game... So to circle back to your question, it's getting my swing better so I can hit the driver better. Off of the tee is where is all starts and from there, the game is much more enjoyable to play and also where the most success is had. If I hit a good driver and am in the fairway and miss the green with my second shot, more times than not, the miss from the fairway with my iron shot is closer to the green and being closer to the green with my miss means I have a better chance of getting up and down for par. Conversely, if my driver is deep in the rough where there is obstruction, my second shot missing the green is a much higher percentage and furthermore, that green miss will more than likely be much further from the green creating a much more difficult shot to get up and down for par. It's simple common sense really and with that, being a better ball striker will get me closer to scratch.
  13. If I were Tiger, I would call.
  14. Stenson is Jacked
  15. It's funny because both Golf Central and PGA Tour Radio went on about his putting (mostly) and also mostly accredited his win to the putter. Dustin Johnson also in his comments after the playoff said Hahn was putting well all day. Golf is an interesting thing/game and misinformation is incredibly prevalent in golf. Hahn may of got hot with the putter at points to win on Sunday but the reality is, based on the stats, that it really was his Ball Striking over the four days that positioned him to win the tournament (and not a hot putter for several holes on Sunday). Conversely, when you look at Sergio Garcia who putted lights out all week (+1.600 strokes gained putting for the tournament), it was his Ball Striking that took him out of the tournament. Sergio could only sustain his short game for so long before the lack of precise ball striking came to bite him in the end which we saw in full effect the last 6 or so holes on Sunday.
  16. What are the physical signs? I'm asking because I'm curious to know.
  17. I have heard many mention Tiger could play Tight End, Running Back and I to have also have heard the Safety / Corner comments. Just so you know, Tiger spots most Cornerbacks and Safeties in the NFL, on average, 25-35 lbs. With that being fact, he definitely would have to take PEDs to match that :P
  18. For me, a quiet range is nice so you can focus without distractions. I have however had many moments on the range where there are good players practicing in front or behind me (or both) and they are hitting it well, I'm hitting it well and we start to naturally feed of each other while hitting shots. Those have been some pretty cool moments that usually lead to a me saying or them saying "hey man, you have a good swing, what course do you play at?" I'm never against meeting new people, friends on the range.
  19. My point was to shine light on the fact that Tiger isn't this huge super athlete that everyone claims him to be "because of PEDs." Let first work from the base that he isn't a Monster Sized Super Athlete and THEN, build our judgments from there because it seems like a lot of people argue that he did PED's based on evidence that he is "huge," which..... he isn't. He is a normal sized man. Have you ever seen Tiger next to Henrik Stenson?
  20. Blows my mind... When people say "Lebron James could be a tight end if he didn't play basketball," I say, "that's probably a true statement." Why? Well because Lebron James is 6'8" / 250+ LBS. That's more or less the size you have to be in order to play the tight end in the NFL. Heck Tom Brady (who looks like an average guy on a football field surrounded by muscle monsters) is 6'4" /225 Lbs. That 3 inches taller and about 40lbs heavier than Tiger at his peak. People need to use their heads. Other examples Payton Manning is 6'5" / 230lbs (that's 4 inches taller than Tiger and 45lbs heavier) Scrawny younger brother Eli Manning is 6'4" / 218lbs (that's 3 inches taller than Tiger and 33lbs heavier) Is Brady or the Manning brothers on PEDs? Why not, they are huge monsters...
  21. Precisely. Every injury Tiger has had he has come back from in a standard amount of time. I don't recall him having any spectacular recoveries that happened in an expedient fashion or the discussion of him coming back "before anyone expected" he would. I've played baseball at a high level and have seen steroid use first hand. I never even came close to the stuff in terms of taking it but I certainly can say the results I've seen are WAY more impressive in terms of recovery times and bulk / muscle size than what we have seen with Tiger. The negative effects to PEDs (see Mvmac's post) are also ones that Tiger doesn't have. All of this comes down to Tiger being a gym rat and his size is associated to that. Does he probably have tons of the best Whey Protein available which he gobbles after workouts? Yes. Does he probably take a ton of supplements that are legal but work wonders because he can afford it and has the best nutritionists available to man? Yes. That's really what I believe all that it is and that's what I believe his size is associated to (which, speaking of his size, isn't that big). People I have heard that compare him to football players and him having the body of a tight end, running back, etc are OUT OF THEIR MINDS to believe that. Tiger at his biggest would get owned on the football field. Tiger is a great athlete yes, but come on people...
  22. Taking into consideration how injured Tiger has been in his career (the list is long), we can then all presume that the PEDs he has been speculated to have taken were certainly the worst PED's in the history of sport no? I mean, someone who was a PED user surely wouldn't be that injured right? Talk about a shitty prescription
  23. I also saw him try to pool cue a putt into the hole, missed, tapped it backwards, missed again, blurted out a couple of profanities with his sloppy demeanor, putted it again through his legs all the while walking all over and through everyone's putting lines with his spikes and then he proceeded to throw his putter into the grass for his caddy to go fetch it for him... Considering we play a game of etiquette he really lowered the bar. There was nothing "funny" about that display of sloppiness and ridiculous behavior. His act is tired.
  24. I have a feeling that this pick had a lot to do with most of the other potential captains not wanting to take the job. The old timers don't want to get skewered like Watson did if they were to lose again so I'm sure there were like "no thanks" and the modern potentials, Couples, Azinger probably discretely said no thanks also for many reasons. Azinger has a legacy in 2008 that he doesn't want to ruin and Couples is a Presidents Cup Legend and has nothing to prove. Who else is left? Considering those circumstances, the pick makes sense to me.
  25. While I won't go to this extreme, I have to be honest in saying that I am very tired of the Bill Murray / Pebble Beach "trying hard to be funny" act. I also agree that it is somewhat narcissistic.
