  1. I like the driver, but the rest of the bag is decent... not a big fan of Nike clubs.
  2. I text my instructor what I'm doing wrong and tell him my swing sucks.. lol. Then I ask him if I can get a lesson on the weekend. Feel much better after all that.
  3. I demo'd the 3H pro black and A7 ... found the A7 easier to hit and saved $50. A7 also comes with a sweet UST Mamiya AXIVcore shaft.
  4. Ping G15 4 wood 17*... great club!
  5. 1. Miccosukee (Marlin & Dolphin) hosts Nationwide tour event every October... you can get a discounted rate on golfnow.com 2. Pembroke Lakes 3. Country Club of Miami (West course) Enjoy!!
  6. Here's some affordable, quality golf courses in the Miami-Dade & Broward area... Country Club of Miami (36 holes) Miami Shores Miccosukee (27 holes) Grand Palms (27 holes - Pembroke Pines, FL) Hillcrest (Hollywood, FL) Pembroke Lakes (Pembroke Pines, FL) The last 3 courses are located just minutes north of the Miami-Dade / Broward county line... about 30 minutes from Downtown Miami.
  7. That's a great club... I bought the G15 instead because I'm not consistent with the driver and a fade bias could become a slice. Everything from the look, feel and sound was great... just not ready for it now. This website has a good review thats very informative. http://thesandtrap.com/clubs/ping_i15_driver_review
  8. I agree with Phil that Crandon is an excellent course, but not close to the Florida keys. About 20 minutes north of Key Largo you have Keys Gate golf club. It's a decent course and available on golfnow.com at a cheap rate $35-$50 http://www.golfnow.com/miami/tee-tim...lf-club/search There's also Miccosukee in the Kendall area which hosts a Nationwide tour event. It's also available on golfnow.com... Enjoy!!
  9. You might not have the swing speed 95mph+ for a stiff shaft..... if not, then it could be open face or coming over the top.
  10. Just purchased the Adams Idea A7 19* hybrid with UST Mamiya AXIVcore shaft @ Edwin Watts.... they have 20% off coupon valid until May 1. Check it out.... http://www.edwinwattsgolf.com/20_off...etail20-_-link
  11. I always thought "releasing the club" occurred after impact.... arms parallel to the ground with good extension and toe of the club pointing to the sky. What this video shows is how to not "cast" the club before impact, no???? I'm very confused.....
  12. Dude, I never had a girlfriend in high school so don't let that phase you. If it happens great, but your grades and sports are much more important for college than some chick. Just wait til you get to college.... my advice is join a frat and you'll have plenty of girls.
  13. I used to play baseball too and the hardest thing for me was learning how to "hit to right field"... in other words swing more inside - out and not over the top. Lessons definitely helped me and I'm sure it will be great for you. In the meantime, I'd work on your takeaway with a slightly closed club face because it looks like you're fanning the club open on your takeaway. This should help eliminate your fades. I'd also work on a slower tempo as the takeaway/backswing should be much slower than the downswing. I usually count a couple seconds before starting the downswing and it's helped my ball striking. Good luck!!!
  14. That's a different method. My only concern with that method is how long with this take? I think it's much faster and simpler to start with your feet together and adjust first your left/front foot according to the club in hand (i.e. Driver ball position is inside left heel) and the right/back foot goes to a comfortable width. Before you take your stance, pick a spot in front of the ball for alignment to your target and use that spot to align the clubface .. and even your stance if needed.
  15. High finish... that works for me with all clubs and it definitely promotes a good release. Just make sure you're not swinging over the top or else it'll be a nasty pull or hook.
  16. No way....that's crazy!! If I were more consistent with the driver, I would've ordered this one too.... maybe I'll be ready for the i20??? lol My old Callaway FT-5 sounded like an aluminum baseball bat and it just got old after a while so I was looking minimal sound well thanks to Golf Digest and their 2010 hot list.... It was rated best performance for GI drivers so it definitely lives up to the hype. Infiniti? that's a car brand, no? sorry dude, I've only heard of Geek and they didn't have em.
  17. PING G15!!!!!! Just wanted to share with you guys my driver fitting at my local range a couple nights ago. I was gaming the Callaway FT-5 draw. I tested 6 new drivers from tour versions to game improvement, and although the Ping i15, Callaway FT Tour and Nike VR tour were very nice... I couldn't turn down the Ping G15. It was long and straight, and even on mishits was very forgiving and traveled a good distance. Being a 15 handicap, this is most important to me since some days you just don't have it... lol. My instructor was pushing for an open-faced/tour driver to teach me how to work the ball, but honestly I need to hit em straight and find the most fairways possible. Here's the list of drivers I tested and an amateur's take on them: - Ping i15: Really wanted this club because it just looks bad ass!! The black finish looks sweet, but better off with a single digit handicap. Slight push to fade which is not my favorite drive. - Nike VR tour: Very nice club with the Aldila Voodoo shaft, and although the sound is much better than the SQ drivers it was enough to annoy me. - Callaway FT tour: This one is great for power fades, but not a fan of those shots. I hit one good drive and I tell you I didn't feel a thing which was very cool.... but overall too unforgiving and not for me. - Taylormade R9 460: Just as long and straight as the G15, but the sound drove me nuts! - Cobra ZL: don't remember what shaft was on this driver, but it just ballooned sky high with backspin which is not my preference. Really nice looking driver... wish they had other shafts. Anyone purchased the G15, or any new driver, recently? What are your thoughts of the new drivers? It's amazing how technology has changed in the last couple years.
  18. I have the 2009 TM Burner irons and am very happy with them. I upgraded from old Titleist 804 irons and these are lighter and much easier to hit. The long irons take some getting used to because the shaft is about 1/2-1 inch longer than most long irons, but they absolutely jump off the face once you hit em right. They don't feel clunky to me... on the contrary they're quite workable for game improvement irons.
  19. I recently purchased the G15 4 wood and it's great!!! Easy to hit especially off the deck... highly recommend it.
  20. Depends on the total yardage.... nothing less than 6,000 yds so usually blue or gold tees.
  21. Replacing the Titleist 907 for a Nike Sumo is a golf sin, no??? Dude, that's a really good driver and I'd stick with it. The sound of the old Nike drivers is awful. I've hit the VR tour and its nothing great... less distance than my FT-5.
  22. My FT-5 kicked it's a$$!!! Not impressed at all with Callaway's 2010 drivers... check out the Ping G15.
  23. Golf Galaxy is a joke. If you have a Golfsmith in your area, I highly recommend it. It's mind-boggling when you're buying a $500 driver that Golf Galaxy only gives you $60 on your trade-in driver that's only a couple years old.... and when you find a better trade-in and ask for your money back, then they decide to match the competitor's offer?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  24. No way dude.... I clean my clubs after every round. Don't mean to change the subject, but I also have back problems (herniated disc L5-S1) which seems to flare up every 2-3 years. Good to hear there is hope for playing golf after fusion surgery because I may have to go that route in the future.
