  1. I think we got to a point where Michelle has more "chronic" and psychological problems than physical. The wrist is a good excuse to "shield" any poor performance in the future. It's kinda strange... maybe I should do some acupuncture for her!
  2. Curious to hear your opinion... (I will post my opinion later, so I will leave the thread as objective as possible!)
  3. Thank you for posting and sharing your experience! I have actually a lot of friends that don't know what is golf, but they know who is Tiger Woods!
  4. Bored of everything... He is human like us after all....losing like he did last year at the US Open... IMO... it's not going to be easy to forget that tournament.
  5. Go Jd!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Welcome, Big Don!
  7. Hi Ian, Welcome aboad! You will see... this forum offers a great chance to chat with numerous interesting users and, most of all, outstanding golfers! I myself have joined it pretty recently but it's so fun that I log in every day! Anyway, welcome again!
  8. 2007 Season has started and we have already seen a lot of things going on. In your opinion, looking at their respective recent winning performance, which player among the list is the biggest contender for Tiger in 2007? 1. Ernie Els 2. Vijay Singh 3. Retief Goosen 4. any other US player 5. any other European player 6. any other Australian/International player p.s. Due to lack of performance and indiscussed inferiority, Phil Mickelson was obmitted (I personally give him 2 years to recover...then, he is going to kick but* again!) (to Phil's fans... please do not blame me, but take it on to your idol!)
  9. To be honest, I don't like how celebrities behave on the course. I understand they would like to entertain us and the crowd, but sometimes they are not funny at all. Humor is something natural and subtle and most of the times, celebrities "over-act".... but this is my personal impression, anyone agree with me?
  10. That's lame.... if he really does it, then the streak cannot be validated! I am a Tiger fan, but if Tiger does that, I will be very disappointed. Then, why does not he go to play smaller tournaments and win 20 in a row??? Let's see what happens....
  11. I have been practising Taekwondo for many years (My father actually brought it in Italy). Taekwondo is the Korean Martial art that uses hand and legs. It has become an Olympic sport in 2000. I personally believe that martial arts like Taekwondo can help you play Golf better for several reasons. The major reasons of my assertion are based on 1. the mental training that brings you to focus and concentrate before an action (either with a kick or a punch); 2. the enormous amount of stretching that you need to practise in order to be fit, because all the techniques are executed as fast as possible but still powerful. You really want to consider martial arts rather than going to a regular gym with weightlifting machines.
  12. I am actually happy... very happy for Coach Dungy.... Many of you know that he had a personal tragedy in his family few years ago with his son's death. He really deserved to win and I am happy that he did elsewhere than NY Jets. He showed that he is Top Class Coach and whatever happened with the Jets was not his fault.

    Go Colts!

Well, it seems that your prediction was right!!!
  14. Yes, I agree. Short game is very important as I can lower my scores so easily just chipping/pitching better.

    Golf books

My favorite book is "The 5 fundamentals of Golf" by Ben Hogan. I read it every winter... just a reminder for better golf swings! In these days, I am reading "Be the Ball", a collection of golf quotations from numerous Golfers (amateur and pros). I bought it because it was on sale... but I must admit that it ended up surprising me for the quality of the quotations.
  16. I actually did not buy one but I really agree with Mrbillinoc.... as long as it works... it's more than welcomed! As far as the price... I will wait for some used ones on Ebay....
  17. Damned! I just missed you.... I had some work to finish and I did not see your email... Well, I guess it's going to be for the next time!!!! Thanks, Erik!
  18. Nooo! Really?!?!?! That's way too cool!!!! Thanks for the tip.... I will try to download and setup skype! Are you going to tell us in advance what topic we are going to talk? (just to prepare a bit... you know... sometimes emotion makes you say crazy things... and I definitely don't want to ruin your transmission....
  19. Ok, guys! Due to the great response and interest that users have shown on this topic (some of the suggested names were absolutely true and hilarious!), let's expand the survey to celebrities, too. My picks for celebrities are: Best swing: John Elway (not bad for a football player...) Beautiful swing: Pete Sampras (I once saw him hitting an iron on TV and he was amazing... fluid just like his Tennis serve!) Ugliest swing: Charles Barkeley (he swings against the rules of Physics and the entire Science!) sorry Charles.... but you gotta improve that swing!
  20. I bet that the players don't get angry.... can you imagine if they actually do and the crowd gets angrier???? As I posted previously, I personally do not like it, but this 16th hole reminds me the Colosseum (in the movie "Gladiator") and Circus Maximus (in the movie "Ben Hur")!!! Believe me, I am from Rome, Italy and I can really say that!
  21. I agree. If a player does not reach the green.... he is the first one to be frustrated with his game and nobody has the right to laugh at him or yell a "boo". This is not basketball nor football. It is Golf. A spectator must stay a spectator. If he wants some excitement, then he should try a WWF arena.
  22. Nooo, really?!?! Then, I really believe that he will get married and divorced again this year! It really seems that JD has problem in "long and straight" relationships.... totally different from his driver shots.....
  23. Hi Guys, Even though I am not a native US citizen, I was worried about this increasing statistics... LPGA has been already a "colony" for foreign players for so many years. In the amateur level, the last 2 editions of the US Amateur Open were won by foreign players, too. The 2006 Ryder Cup was an European showdown... In 2007, we had 5 tournaments and 2 of 5 were won by foreign players. What's your take on this one? Should we try to support more US born players since younger age (i.e. junior, high school, college)?
  24. Although I would never wish bad to anyone (as I believe that tournaments must be won and not lost), I really believe this is a nice correlation!
  25. I would like to thank you and the whole sandtrap staff for selecting my thread as the "forum topic of the week" and for mentioning it (including my username) on the last podcast transmission!! What a honor! I am still a newbie so I apologize if this thread is not showing a poll... I will make sure to learn and improve so that in the future more and more users will participate in my topic discussions. The podcast is a great idea and service. I will make sure to follow new future episodes and to spread the word out to new users and golfers as it really deserves a lot of attention! I would like to take the chance to clarify one thing, though. When I first started this thread, I did not put my opinion on purpose and it was not a "chicken out" case. I chose not to put my personal opinion in order to leave the arguments as much objective and impartial as possible. I, myself, am an "ultra convinced" Tiger fan and I do believe that he has done so many things for the game of Golf... more than any other athletes have done for their respective sports (i.e. Michael Jordan and basketball) To leave the initial post without my personal opinion was a planned and careful choice... sorry for being so oversensitive.. but I guess it's the effect of the podcast's sudden, unexpected but more than welcomed few seconds of fame!
