  1. Hennie Otto with an 86 today, I hope none of the spectators understand Afrikaans!
  2. I like it!
  3. Driver DTL. Trying to get the left arm above the stripe on the jacket at the top of the backswing and the shaft exiting above it again on the other side. Better than it used to be, but still plenty of room for improvement.
  4. Post your "other" swing, too. Be interesting to see how much difference there really is between them. Feel isn't real.
  5. Camera should be at roughly waist height, so if they were holding it at eye level it's going to affect how you look. Not sure what you mean by "posting in". The right leg should lose some flex (straighten) as you go back and will then regain that flex naturally as you go into the downswing. You won't have to think about it.
  6. How high off the ground was the person filming you holding the camera? Wondering if that's making it look a bit flatter than it really is. But there are some good elements in there -- you could work from there. A decent place to start might be feeling like your right leg straightens more on the backswing, to get your hips and shoulders turning on a more tilted angle.
  7. Royal County Down is one of my bucket list courses, so I'll be watching that mainly.

Deep Knowledge Ventures, a firm that focuses on age-related disease drugs and regenerative medicine projects, says the program, called VITAL, can make investment recommendations about life sciences firms by poring over large amounts of data. Just like other members of the board, the algorithm gets to vote on whether the firm makes an investment in a specific company or not. The program will be the sixth member of DKV's board. VITAL's software was developed by UK-based Aging Analytics. "[The goal] is actually to draw attention to developing it as an independent decision maker," Deep Knowledge Venture's Charles Groome told BI. How does the algorithm work? VITAL makes its decisions by scanning prospective companies' financing, clinical trials, intellectual property and previous funding rounds. Groome says it has already helped approved two investment decisions (though has not yet cast its first vote), both of which resemble its own function: In Silico Medicine, which develops computer-assisted methods for drug discovery in aging research; and In Silico's partner firm Pathway Pharmaceuticals, which employs a platform called OncoFinder to select and rate personalized cancer therapies. "It's not what you’d call AI at this stage, but that is the long-term goal," Groome said. http://www.businessinsider.com/vital-named-to-board-2014-5?
  9. Thanks Erik. I'll work that in.
  10. Trying to practice what I was preaching to Saevel. Exaggerated hinging in BS to get to a better position at the top and on a steeper plane in DS -- with shaft coming down the right forearm. Right elbow needs to push more into pitch from A5 I think?
  11. It's not going to be just less-skilled jobs either. There's a big wave coming and a lot of professions are going to get it in the neck. http://fortune.com/2015/05/20/here-are-the-jobs-automation-will-kill-next/
  12. They can always just do what the Ivy League does and assess the Asians a few penalty shots before they tee off to maintain "diversity" on the tour.
  13. Just to illustrate the sort of spectrum we're talking about. You and I tend to be too far on the left (least) and need to feel like the extreme right (most) in order to come out somewhere in the middle.
  14. Still too inside. Concentrate on keeping as much cup as you can in your left wrist and taking your hands out away from your toes. Will feel like a monster loop from out to in, but won't be on the film. Ernie always says that if there was a mirror on the face of your wedge, you'd want to see your self in it all the way back. And he can pitch a bit!
  15. Youngest-ever US Am winner shoots lowest-ever score around Wentworth and no one gives a toss? We are getting a bit spoiled for choice of young prodigies these days!
  16. Was quite surprised to see the size of the gallery following Tommy Aiken at today's International qualifier. Until I realized that his wife was on the bag and she was wearing yoga pants.
  17. New tournament record attendance at Wentworth of 113,640. That's healthy.
  18. Pitching swings, trying to keep shaft plane more upright after transition, right shoulder staying higher longer.
  19. Up at 5:30 am and everyone else in the house is still asleep? Good time to grab a sand wedge and work on changing the picture! Golf tan is coming along pretty well by English standards ...
  20. Did it again today at Wentworth. Has now had more aces then anybody else in European Tour history. Hell of a shot. http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/season=2015/tournamentid=2015038/videoaudio/videoid=257279.html
  21. Hey Matt, just commenting because we have some similar tendencies, not because I'm any kind of expert! I know that for me I don't like to see the club going inside and under so quickly from A1 to A2 as this takes the loft and bounce off and sets you up to return to the ball too shallow and with too much leading edge in play. I know when I'm doing it by the strikes -- which tend thin -- and the turf interaction -- gets "sticky". My focus when practicing is to hinge the club up much faster from A1 on the backswing -- feels like it's way outside the hands even though it isn't, on film -- then be quicker opening up the hips on the downswing. Feels like everything (shoulders, torso, hips) goes around in synch together and just drags the sole of the wedge along the turf. Will also feel more "left" from where you are now. You'll have more descent into the ball and won't have to overtake so fast, so you'll have a better chance of presenting the correct loft consistently. And the flexing/softening of the left elbow will shallow you out at the right time and create a nice flat spot at the bottom to give you more margin for error. Mike's face-ons show this well: And I'm practicing a slightly longer one here, just focusing on keeping the club head "out": Hope that's of some use to you.
  22. All sports have kooks but golf has the best kooks, in my humble opinion.
  23. Sorry to hear mate. Very frustrating and disappointing. Sending you all the good vibes we have over here and fingers crossed that the rehab goes faster than you think.
