  1. The plain Tripseed, sure. I dont like that one either. But the Tripseed "TOUR" is different. Ive tried the Bridgestone B330RX several times, and I just dont see where its superior. It is supposed to be a direct competitor to the ProV1(x) just built for a slower swing speed. I have not tried the B330RX "S" yet. Maybe its better? I just found the Bridgestone E series balls to be garbage. And I tried them several times, including the new 2012 balls with the new dimples. There's just no way those E series balls are any better than a Topflite, or Srixon AD333, Trispeed, Titleist NXT, Noodle, etc…
  2. I would somewhat agree with you, however, IF I had to pinpoint an aspect of my game where I lose the most strokes, its with my putter. I can count probably on one hand the times ive been "a good putter." And those are the times ive won some big tournaments, including last years Club Championship. Tee to green I do ok. I come up short a lot. I have a hard time with pulling the longer club and making the shot. I have a mental block about going long. But Im ok coming up short of the green if I can just chip it in close. I realized during my last round that I need to go to a softer ball. I swear, I landed my ball 6 inches from the cup several times and it just rolled out to 20 feet. And I have a very high ball flight as well. I need a ball that going to check once and stop. I guess if I didnt have so many 20+ putts I'd probably make more…
  3. The way Tiger has been playing, I think he should use it… Maybe he'll win again.
  4. Thanks! Ill look into those. They're both a bit far from me, but ill check them out and see.
  5. It amazes me how many people just completely overlook, or ignore, the Srixon Trispeed TOUR's… It is quite possibly the best 3 piece ball on the market! Spin, distance, control, etc… When I was testing balls about a year ago the Srixon Trispeed TOUR was so much better than all the rest I was shocked! I found the Bridgestone e series balls to complete garbage. However the Bridgestone B330RX was a very nice ball, but not better than the Trispeed TOUR's, so price won out. $20 a dozen for the Srixon, vs $40 a dozen for the Bridgestone 330RX. Sorry to the Titleist faithfuls, but Im just anti Titleist. They're overpriced, over marketted, & overhyped!
  6. You've never heard of Srixon!?!? Do you live under a rock??? Hahaha Seriously though, its one of the top 3 on tour. Titleist and Bridgestone being the other two. The soft feel is good. The AD333 is more of a distance ball. You really cant go wrong with either one though. Titleist and Bridgestone both have online fitting as well. Try them, and see what they tell you also. Give yourself some options.
  7. The guy who decides to piss in the trees 10 feet away while Im teeing off.
  8. Im going thru that right now too. Im looking for a new 3 wood, and Im going to replace my 5 wood with a 3 hybrid, I think. I just never use my 5 wood anymore. Technically the loft of a 5 wood would be more similar to a 2 iron/hybrid. Ive thought about adding a 2 hybrid also, and playing a 4, 3, 2 hybrid combo with a 3 wood, instead of a 5 wood & 3 wood. But like I said, I never use my 5 wood, so why add a 2 hybrid? I think maybe an extra wedge would be better for me and my bag.
  9. I just bought a dozen yesterday to try out. I like the Z-Star X, but I dont have a high swing speed, so I thought maybe these XV's would be better. ill try them out to see for sure.
  10. Srixon!! There's a model for every swing.
  11. So Im tired of messin around. I wanna go low! Single digit handicap low! Ive been a 13 handicap long enough, and I feel like my swing is developing enough to really start playing some great golf. But my short game is severally lacking to go low. That includes my putting. I do have a swing instructor, and he's been great for my overall swing, but when it comes to short game, well… He doesn't quite cut it. Ive gotten a lesson or two from him for my short game and got nothing out of it, unfortunately. So I think I need to look elsewhere for a short game instructor. Is there a really good short game and/or putting instructor that someone can recommend in the Southern California area (not LA)?? Thanks.
  12. Anyone play them? Like them? Hate them? Differences between the Z faces and the ZTP faces? I know they're "milled" but the interchangeable faces are "forged." How's the feel? From what I can tell I like them, but hitting them in the store off of a mat into a net that doesn't show you ball flight, spin, etc… Makes it a bit difficult to pull the trigger on getting some. Im in the market for new wedges, and with everything new these days having "conforming" grooves, Im looking at some of the old stock of the non conforming groove wedges. I really like the Callaway JAWS wedges I have now, but they aren't made anymore and nobody in my area has them in stock, so I can't rebuy them. Plus eBay prices are a bit ridiculous and you never know what you're gonna get with used wedges online.
  13. The new face technology that they have been pushing right now is in fact, just a thinner face. Which in turn makes it a little louder and more specifically higher pitched. Personally, I like the way they sound. The driver has an awesome powerful sound to it. Reminds me a lot of the Taylormade R9 TP I had a while back. The Nike fairway woods were not as loud I thought. The driver is loud, but the fairway woods sound like any other fairway metal does.
  14. There is absolutely nothing different between the "stock" Fubuki and the off the rack Fubuki. Well except for the Nike logo on it. If you ask me, I think you're playing the wrong shaft. You should get fitted first. The shaft can make or break the club. Especially if you are making solid contact on the face, like you say. I had a similar problem with my old PING G15. The stock Aldila Serrano worked fine when I first purchased it, but then as I started to get lessons and improve I guess I outgrew it. It had the wrong kick point for my swing & I had to change the shaft.
  15. I gotta be honest here… I disagree with a lot of people on this subject I guess, but I think the "stock" shafts in a lot of the new drivers 2010+ are great in comparison. The myth that "stock" shafts aren't any good just isnt true anymore. Some of the tour guys are playing "stock" shafts. They have obviously been fit for it, but its no different than the one you can buy at the store. Other than the fact that it is shorter than what we buy "standard" in the store. Today's drivers are too long if you ask me. I had my Titleist 910D2 cut down 1" when I bought it. TaylorMade, Nike, Titleist, Adams, Ping, etc... All come with really good "stock" shafts. And other than some of them having a logo printed on them somewhere, they are exactly the same as what you buy of the rack. In fact my Adams Speedline 9064LS came with an Aldila RIP alpha shaft, and before that I bought an Aldila RIP alpha to put in my PING G15. When put side by side you cant see or tell the difference, and you certainly cant feel a difference. I ordered my Titleist 910D2 with an Aldila RIP alpha as well, and again, you cannot tell the difference between any of them. I see the original OP already purchased a new driver, but for those who are in the same boat and are reading this, here is the point: GO GET FITTED!! The head is a sound & feel thing, but the shaft is the difference between gaining/losing yards and finding the fairway or not. THE SHAFT IS THE IMPORTANT PART!!
  16. Hahahaha Maybe they were all spray painted black? Hahaha
  17. Dont ignore the new Nike VR_S… Its a fantastic driver! I have the Titleist 910D2 now, but I may be switching. Thats how impressed with the new Nike stuff I was. RBZ is junk. More media hype than distance… Hahaha I was just at the local golf store this weekend, and I hit just about everything new out right now. I didn't like the Callaway Razr fit, but ive also NEVER been a fan of Callaway stuff other than their forged wedges. The R11S was nice. Im not sure what makes it "that much better" than last years R11, but both feel decent. They have a nice "crack" when hit in the sweet spot. Reminds me of the R9 Superdeep TP. Like I said above, the new Nike VR_S is awesome. Also has an awesome sound when struck in the middle. Not to mention the Fubuki shaft is a great shaft!
  18. If I ever bought an R11 or RBZ I would paint it immediately! Luckily, I think the RBZ products are crap, and I haven't found a reason to buy an R11S yet. Painting it wont add enough weight to even measure it or feel it. Just lightly spray a few coats of rattle can black gloss and head out to the course.
  19. Its funny you mentioned all that, becasue I thought the same things! That RBZ 3 wood is all hype! It feels terrible to me. Plus I still hate the white head design. Like I said ive never really been a fan of Nike products. I mean when I first started playing golf a few years ago I had a few Nike clubs, but I quickly switched them out for much better products. IMO the Nike Sasquatch2 line was the last good product they produced… UNTIL NOW! I was really impressed with both last years VR line of woods and this years new VR_S line of woods. Ive been thinking about it for the last couple of days and I really think I might be trading in my PING i15 woods for the new Nike VR_S stuff… People need to rethink Nike products these days. I think its gotten extremely better.
  20. So I had some time to kill today and what better way than to troll at the local golf superstore. Plus Im kinda looking for a new 3 wood. Anyways, I hit just about everything new that I thought was worth hitting. One of which was the new Nike VRS line. I loved the fairway woods! It just felt powerful, and hot off the face. Just for kicks I pulled a a few drivers. A 9* stiff Fubuki shaft Nike VRS driver, an R11S with an RIP, and the new Callaway Razer Hawk fit with the NV_S shaft. Ive never been a fan of the Callaway drivers, and the Razer Hawk fit was no different for me, ill pass on it. The R11S was very nice. Had a nice crack to it and felt solid. Then I tried the new Nike VR_S, and I gotta be honest... That thing felt wicked good! I mean solid, forgiving, and whatever they claim to have done to the face of the driver, I could definitely feel it! I was quite impressed. IF I were going to buy a new driver, which Im really not, I would 100% honest put this in my top 3 choices. And ive never been a fan of Nike drivers before. I would also definitely have to put it on a launch monitor and see how Im hitting it. I wasn't paying attention to any of that today. Just strictly based on feel. Anyone else tried it?
  21. I play the CB2's and I love them!! I just demo'd the CB3's a couple weeks ago. And I personally didn't like the CB3's. Not because they weren't good clubs, but because you cant go from CB2's to CB3's. The CB3's are so much bigger than the CB2's. Which makes the CB3's more forgiving. I like my CB2's because they're a happy medium. The CB1's were great clubs too, but the CB2's were more forgiving than the CB1's and with relatively the same size and shape. I am really dissappointed that Adams stopped producing the CB2's… They're great clubs!!
  22. Nike MOJO… $20 for 2 dozen… At a 36+ handicap, youre probably losing a lot of golf balls, so just buy the cheapest balls you can.
  23. I had the Ahina, and switched the RIP. I like the RIP much better. Lower spin works better for me personally.
  24. Has anyone on here taken Taylormade up on their R11S guarantee?? I really dont like the white crown, but if its a guarantee that you can get more distance and control with it, maybe its worth it?? Im playing the Titleist 910D2 right now, and I really do like it, but if there is something better, why not? The $400 price tag doesn't exactly make me burn with desire either, but if its a full fitting it might be worth it.
