  1. The 1st day that I played my G15's, I saw a big difference coming out of the rough with the bigger heads. It was like hitting a wall compared to my old blades. The compact size of blades is a definate benefit from taller grass.
  2. To keep swing weights in range.
  3. I think during the tourist season there would be a waiting list. Not many people would venture to St. Andrews in the winter months. Its pretty nasty there from Nov-March. I was stationed at the sub base in Holy Loch Scotland for awhile.
  4. I would bet money that every person on this forum has had a meltdown of one form or another. Nothing wrong with it unless you are dragging down your playing partners or damaging the course. It's all part of being competitive. Some people crawl into a shell when they get frustrated, and others let it out. Either way is fully understandable........ to me anyways.
  5. I'm not a big fan of the playoffs, but I do have to admit that it was a nail biter for the last 45 minutes. Good show!
  6. Yeah, I didnt mean it to slam him, he just looks like he is in pure agony under pressure.
  7. I could not play a copy of St. Andrews. The old course gets alot of its character from its surroundings. I played it years ago, and there is nothing else like it. But then again........ some people might find it fun.
  8. I cut 1" off of my 2009 Burner and I am hitting more flush than ever. My distance loss seems to be right around 5 yards or so. It has been a great trade-off for me, and I have that fun feeling when I address the ball with it now. Might not work for everyone.............just throwing it out there.

    2010 Ryder Cup

9 or 10 on the Stimp meter? Thats just about as fast as your local muni isnt it? Just curious.
  10. Broke a few in my day. It took years to get the Hockey mentality out of my golf game.
  11. The only time I exagerrate hands ahead is when I want a chip to run hot, or pitching into a strong wind. My go to method when I am flubbing is Ken Venturi's method of quiet hands (or quieter). It helps me anyways.
  12. Excluding driving club & putter. 1. 7 iron 2. 56 degree wedge I used to chip almost always with wedges, but for the past few years I have been running the ball more and it has paid off. On a bad chipping day, my biggest fault was chunking. I have almost eliminated the chunking by using the less lofted clubs.
  13. I meant Overton in my OP. Geeees.......... I am a dummy........only took 2 weeks to realise the snafu. I think Overton will have a mental breakdown under the pressure.
  14. Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy! Good for him.
  15. I update my cell phone greeting almost daily. It only takes a couple minutes and people dont feel like I am blowing them off. I deal with alot different builders, and they want everything done....... right now....... this instant. I never check my phone on the course, and I dont like others yacking on the phone when I am playing with them.

    NFL Week 2

I dont think any team played as poorly as the Patriots.
  17. Samual Adams
  18. Yeah.....no kidding. It is almost too painful to watch some times. But thats Phil..... always dancing in the middle of rush hour traffic.
  19. I watched both Jack and Tiger throughout thier careers. Jack was probably the very best lag putter I ever saw. I think Tiger has made more sensational putts overall.
  20. Let me see........ Mr Dey was furious at Hinkle because and was red in the face from the press attention from Hinkle being able to reach a par 5 that almost nobody in the field could. A tree gets planted overnight? Nahhhhh....... your right........ The USGA was making it fair for everyone.
  21. Ben Hogans "5 Easy Lessons" might be one of the best teaching books ever written. I never had a formal lesson, and got down as low as a 5.7 handicap using his book as a reference.
  22. Why not settle for a "mental thought" of hitting it crisp instead of crushing it? Your swing speed will more than likely return once you have the new swing grooved. Just throwing it out there.
  23. 1979 US Open. USGA officials get pissed off at Lon Hinkle and planted a tree just off the tee box on hole #8 after the 2nd round so he and Chi Chi cannot take a short cut up the 17th fairway to shorten the par 5. Hinkle and Chi Chi got the last laugh by going over the tree anyways. Chi Chi teed up using a pencil, and Lon Hinkle just blew his shot over the tree. Mr. Dey didnt see any humor in it. Typical USGA snobs.
  24. I played with Macgregor Tourney's for many years and now play the Ping G15's. I dont hit the G15's any better overall, but I do get the slightly higher trajectory that I have been looking for. The playability of the G15's is just about the same as the old Mac's, and the feel of my good and bad shots is actually better. Forged vs. Cast Blade vs. Cavity Back Non offset vs. Offset Better feel of blades Better feel of Forged Cast stainnless has less feel Its all bullshit ...... play with what looks good to your eye, and with a shaft that compatible to your swing.
