Just for the record I thought the fans were great and the atmosphere was spot on . I do think it is wrong to have players waving their arms and inciting the crowds , it shows a lack of polish to say the least and a lack of respect for the ethos of the game . The better side won an di doubt any European would not agree with that and i for one am glad that it's a decent contest again.

I cant believe that anyone who has played both Pebble and Cypress could suggest Cypress is almost as good as Pebble! Pebble beach is not ranked number 1 by any source I have ever seen either Pine valley or Cypress always are , perhaps in a list of public courses but that would be about it . In my opinion Pebble is one of the most overrated top 100 courses in the world I think Spyglass , the MPCC are both superior courses. I do accept that in 6/7/8 they have probably the best stretch of three holes you will ever play but equally there are several very ordinary holes on the fornt and back nines.

The other courses that are cheaper and fairly nearby Lahinch are Adare Manor ( not castle ) and Dromoland castle . I have played Adare which is a good track that has hosted the Irish open for the last couple of years but in essence it's like any other parkland course and I would argue that you have an abundance of better ones at home . If you are coming to Ireland play as much links golf as you can its just so different from any golf you will play in the US . Forget Whistling straits and spanish bay being like links courses they are not , they llok like them to a certain extent but play nothing like them . The other courses that you should simply not miss are Waterville and Tralee .

you need at least one caddy in a four ball for either course or you will have no idea of the line on many of your tee shots. If you are coming all the way to this area from the US you have to play Doonbeg its probably the best new course design in the last 75 years in the British Isles.

I just spent 3 weeks in the US and must say I found Obama charismatic , intelligent and dignified , he seems as though he might be a breath of fresh air . Senator Mcain on the other hand whilst clearly having an immense character is not charismatic and clearly his lack of communicative abilites is not allowing him to appear as intelligent . I hope for the sake of Americas reputation world wide that Obama does win since it seems to me unlikely a Macain government will make changes to your foreign policy that I believe are desirable.

I have just spent the last three weeks in the United states on holiday and would take issue with English being the language spoken , certainly I had trouble being understood on a daily basis and I am English. I was wondering though when Spanish becomes more widely spoken than American English will all pro golfers have to speak Spanish?

was your point that the current points system is biased towards events played in the United States rather than Europe ? and that consequently pga tour players have higher rankings relative than european tour players which is not representative of either of their true abilities?

this year have played Muirfield , North Berwick , St Andrews Old , Doonbeg , Royal County Down ,The European Club and Portmarnock Old and they were all fantastic . Also played The K CluB , Gleneagles Kings and Queens ,and they were all pretty good too even though they are park;land courses but for me if i am going on a trip its has to be links. So come on guys get over here and play some real links but try not to bellow across the fairway to one and other " HEY BILL DID YOU SEE THAT " you aren't the only people out there you know.

oh no some of the players could not reach the fairway into a strong head wind on a links course .....welll welcome to my world boys . Regarding Sandy Lyle the R and A should remove his exemption for next year at the very least .
