  1. metal wood is the one that most annoys me, like someone else mentioned.
  2. it WAS a choke. he's a top tour pro with a wedge in his hand...and came up well short. What else do you call it?
  3. I don't think spitting them on the greens is cool but just like anything else in my line that might knock the ball off line, I'll move it. Chunks of dirt or hard sand, twigs, those "helicopter seeds" (maple seeds) that fall from trees... If its "yucky" I'll use the back of my putter to pick it up and discard it..unless its goose poop...and then I just hope I never run into that :D
  4. I've never seen a golf course be off with their listed yardages. Just for fun, I checked all the holes on my home course and they were all spot on given a +/- 5 yards for using google earth. Par 5's are always measured with three "shots" and that can sometimes make a big yardage gap if you don't do that.
  5. my regular playing partners and I played in a church fundraising scramble yesterday and came home with the win shooting a 60! Course was very soft and wet due to a weeks worth of good rain falling but still was playable. Oh, this was not one of those "buy a bunch of freebies" scrambles, either...so I feel good about it.
  6. BTW, if you have a really "grassy" day on the course, you can also just take your club brush and give the cleats a good brushing to clear the grass off. A little less tedious than using a tee.
  7. none of my feats have ever hurt..they've always been happy moments.
  8. I will use a restroom unless I just absolutely cannot hold it in any longer(as in, I've been holding it for a few holes already and things aren't moving fast enough). It seems like some guys just can't help but go take a piss whenever they see a tree. a couple weeks ago my friend and I were the second group off...a single was in front of us. We tee off on the 4th hole(from the tee you are blind from about 170 in to the hole...well as we come up over the crest..there stands the single right by the green taking a leak. On top of that, he's facing towards us as we come up the fairway and he stood there for another minute before he thought it might be better to turn around. A few years ago I was playing solo and had played through 16 holes....and on the 15th and 16th I could feel a little bit of poo radar starting to ping. Anyway, I think "I'm just a couple holes from being done, I can play through it" so I go ahead and tee up on the 17th. I swing and I think I damn near poo'd myself..it was the worst feeling in the world. I had to get to a bathroom and quick! It felt like I hit every bump on the course as I rode to pick up my ball and then speed to the clubhouse. I barely made it in time to not make mud in my pants.....thank GOD!
  9. couldn't he just say that he's intentionally hitting the chip shot fat?
  10. but what if he started with the club an inch off the ground and THEN moved it along the ground to strike the ball????
  11. I quit smoking by using e-cigarettes and its funny sometimes to watch people who don't smoke try to choke and cough around it :) Little do they know..its just water vapor and there is no actual smoke involved. All my golf buddies love it, though...love the smell. Its like a nice pipe tobacco smell.
  12. I only give my friends advice when they ask me about shots that I'm confident in hitting....mostly shots around the green. Other than that, I keep my mouth shut about anything lol.
  13. I wouldn't pay ridiculous prices for headcovers. If it comes with the club, then I'll use it or throw the set of my favorite college team.
  14. yeah this one can make you feel like a "tour pro" or the tiniest man on Earth. Such a relief to hit a decent shot when strangers are watching.
  15. Haven't had the chance to use it yet but I won't tell you my first thought of what it looked like, lmao. The little carry bag is a nice touch, though....I wasn't expecting it to come with any kind of "case" so thats a big bonus.
  16. It has to be a tie between duffing a chip shot and hitting a 20-30 yard pitch shot fat...both eat me up inside!
  17. it can't be ok if you say someone else is wrong for doing the same thing, lol. either you're both wrong or you both have the right to say "I don't agree with that behavior". Furthermore, judgement is not the act of saying something is wrong to do, or unholy, or not Christian or however else you want to say it. Telling someone they are sinning is not judging them. Judgement is condemning someone to hell. I'm not saying there aren't Christians who do just that to other people, but the term "judging" gets used too often out of context in religious discussions. Christians have a responsibility to rebuke their brothers and sisters when he or she is sinning. For the record. I do believe in Jesus Christ but its a personal thing to me. I don't condone or condemn anyone elses lives and I would hope that they look at me the same way. I will "love" whoever I come across in my life.
  18. this is the only point I take from religious arguments. People judge Christians for expressing their beliefs by saying that the Christian is judging others. Pot, meet Kettle. Christians are supposed to "accept" gay people but Christians are then condemned for their beliefs. Wheres the turn-about?
  19. Thank God southern hospitality runs pretty thick through Kentucky! At my home course, they call me by name, have casual conversations with me about anything and everything..always wave and smile, ask how I'm doing...its a great feeling. At the other courses I frequent, they are always really friendly and accomodating, as well. I've played at courses that cost 15 dollars for a round up to 60 for a round and no matter, they are always happy to see you and do their part to make sure your time there is a good time. On the flip side, I'm a quiet person so it doesn't bother me if someone isn't chatty or overly talkative.
  20. SO you're as big of a moron as he is and also proud of it? :)
  21. went 3 1/2 rounds and then lost 4 balls in the last two rounds!
