  1. I've got to go with Spieth. His "will" to win is amazing. He always seems to find a way to put himself in a position to be near the top where Rory seems to either blow out the pack or be no where near the top.
  2. Thanks for the info guys! I was thinking about trying to get practice round tickets when we get out there because it would be a blast to watch some of these things!
  3. Thanks for the info! Someone else also told me we should spend some time at Amen corner so I think that spot is definitely going to be on the list.
  4. Thanks to a good friend who is giving us tickets my dad and I are headed to The Masters this year! We will only be at the tournament on Thursday and I'm looking for advice on any must do's/must see's while out there from anyone who has been or may live in there area??? We are flying in to Columbia, SC on Tuesday morning and playing golf on Wednesday so we actually don't have a ton of free time but is there anything we absolutely have to check out while in the area or at the course it self???? Thank you very much for any advice you can provide!
  5. I've played more than I ever have this year and when I'm not real busy at work during planting and harvest I have been trying to play once per week and sometimes twice but not very often. I work full time in agriculture.
  6. About a month ago or so I was playing with two friends and we were in a fairway with a dog leg left and the group in front of us was on the green about 200 yards away. I couldn't see the green but my two friends could and they said I was clear to hit. I pulled my hybrid which I typically hit about 180-190 and hit it just perfect. My two friends looked shocked and yelled at me that I needed to go apologize because I just hit right into the group on the tee....I felt horrible but went up and apologized and was fortunate that I didn't hit any one.
  7. I have done it but never actually printed it off. Are you saving the image as a power point and adding your distances to that?
  8. Wow thanks for all the responses guys! Right now I always have the ball just inside my left foot (I'm a righty juts to clarify) with my driver and more centered with all the other clubs. I'm going to try shortening up the backswing first and maybe moving the ball a little further back in the stance. I do struggle and feel much less comfortable with longer clubs, I'm not a very big guy, only about 5'6" and the wedges and short irons just feel so much better to me. I hit balls yesterday and won't have a chance again until Saturday, I'll try and report back and see if I can work anything out. Also planning on taking my first lesson ever in the next couple weeks because I really want to get this figured out the right way. Thanks again!
  9. No not really. I actually tell myself to slow it down to try not to "kill it" But I do have a pretty slow, deliberate backswing that I'll try and shorten up. Thanks for the tip!
  10. ...I know this is hard enough with a video and basically impossible with out one but anyway....I hit my irons, and even my rescue club pretty darn straight most of the time but all the sudden I have a pretty nasty slice with my driver and I can't for the life of me figure out what I am doing. I know I just need to go take a lesson and have someone look at my swing but any suggestions or things to try to fix this??? Thanks!
  11. I'm not a scientist on the matter but I'm actually going to say no. I have several laborers that work for me in the summer and they wear long sleeve or even sweat shirts in the fields and they say they are cooler and safer protecting themselves from the sun.
  12. Strength: Mid irons and putting. They have been pretty accurate lately and have helped reduce my handicap. Weakness: Driver accuracy, scary slice all of the sudden and I can't seem to figure out why or what changed.....time for a lesson!
  13. Not a great outcome but still an against the odds shot either way....about two years ago I am playing a round with a friend and on a hole there is a power line that runs across the fairway maybe 35 yards or so from the tee box. My buddy steps up to his ball and hits his drive and it zings off the power line. He then re-teed stepped up to the ball and somehow hit it again on his second tee shot! We laughed it off and tried a third and he finally got past the wire.
  14. My dad! My favorite playing partner!
  15. That would have been a 60* wedge for me until I left it on a course and lost it about 3 weeks ago. Since then anything under about 90 yards I have been using my 56* and actually have been hitting it better than I did the 60*. I'm like you though, use the 56* for all short shots.
  16. Good info guys, thanks.
  17. I know it won't get cold for a while yet but I'm planning ahead. What kind of winter gear do you wear to play. I'm interested in all gear but most importantly rain gear and gloves. Thanks in advance!
  18. I'm just curious where you find sand at a range where you can hit a bunch of balls???
  19. Played with a couple strangers a few weeks ago and I was nailing my wedges. At one point one of the guys said to me that I hit my wedges with perfect form. I just responded with uhh okay thanks. It was kind of weird to me but made me feel pretty good.
  20. Got a call from my friend yesterday that he and his father in law were going to play Rancho Solano in Fairfield, CA that afternoon so I promptly wrapped up some things at work at got the heck out of there early. I typically never play well after working but for some reason everything was clicking today. We were on #9 and I hadn't scored anything greater than a bogey so far and was on pace to shoot my best front 9 ever. I stepped up to the #9 tee and hooked my drive to the left I walked up to my ball which was left of the fairway on a dog leg left hole and I had a big left bend plus a hill to deal with. The group in front of us was on the green and the built in GPS on the cart was telling me it was 208 yards to the front of the green. I grabbed my rescue which at best I typically hit it about 200 off a tee so I figured I could lay up and be in a good place to chip on. I hit a solid shot and went up and over the hill and I couldn't see the ball anymore and I thought I went OB. My buddy who was across the fairway with a good view of the hole yelled at me that I just rolled across the green that the guys were putting on. I honestly thought he was kidding but I promptly drove up and apologized to the group. They weren't very happy but after a minute of apologizing they got over it. Any way, ended up being about a 220 yard shot out of the rough, over a hill and onto the green. Of course then I three putted and finished the front 9 with a 45. Shot a 47 on the back finishing with a 92, still chasing that elusive score in the 80's
  21. I feel for you, just two weeks ago I left a 3 week old 60* Cleveland wedge laying next to a green and I called the clubhouse two days later and no one had turned it in. As soon as I realized I lost it I knew exactly where I left it and there is no way it went un-found. Needless to say I was little upset with myself but what are you going to do...
  22. Personally I hate late afternoon tee times. I'll try and play after work sometimes during the week typically teeing off around 3ish and I find that I am at my worst on these days. I feel like I have to rush around the course because its getting late even though I have nothing to do and just end up playing poorly. I am much better suited to get up and play early.
  23. Have fun, both courses are very fun. The Ranch is much more narrow and longer than the Legends but both have distinct characteristics that you'll enjoy. The club house and resturaunt have gone through big time remodels and improvements too.
  24. 3 bucks and I have no idea how many balls that you get
