  1. The most underrated part of golf is playing with old guys from your church every saturday and having more fun than you ever did playing for your high school team.
  2. Leaving a putt short: - "Throw your purse at it." - "I'd like to have seen the end of that one." - "Hit it, Alice." During team play when we all finish a hole badly, going to the next tee box: "And we're off like a herd of turtles." After going Birdie-Double-Birdie-Triple: "Chicken today, feathers tomorrow."
  3. I think it simply HAS to be based on feel. Feel is something you don't have to think about. It's visual and muscle memory.
  4. I just have one thing to say... WRECK EM TECH!
  5. I think the handicap system is something that should only be used to rank you among your [insert-golfing-club/group-here], and nothing else. Giving someone strokes or taking strokes yourself makes being a 'good player' pointless. If I play with a handicap adjustment then I must shoot par every time I play! It defeats the purpose of competition; to be the best.
  6. When I made my comment I knew about the new S56's...I haven't hit them, but I can't imagine a club feeling better than the S57's.
  7. I have tried MP-68's and Titleist 710 MB's (the newest and 'greatest' from two top blade makers)...hated them. I tried the Ping S57's and loved them...they will definitely be my first set of tour irons once I have the funds. I suggest trying everything you can get your hands on. You can find older versions of all 3 of these models for cheap. I know for ping the older model is the S59 (or the S58 if you want a little newer, the numbers go down as time goes on). I'm not sure what the Titleist and Mizuno models are.
  8. Taylormade r5 - $50 http://www.3balls.com/product-produc...RIVERS-RH-USED Titleist 983k (my favorite model, it got stolen) - $50 Aldila Shaft http://www.3balls.com/product-produc...RIVERS-RH-USED If you've never bought from 3balls.com, you will not be disappointed. Most of the time the clubs are better than described.
  9. What a moron. I'd like to see him play on the course. Wonder why he doesn't actually hit a ball in the video...
  10. Around these parts we play in 100+ degree weather between May and September. I would bet I burned 1200 calories playing 27 holes last saturday at 100* weather. Carrying clubs.
  11. Another vote for 3balls.com! I ordered a Cleveland 588 Wedge in "Good" condition and it was better than expected! And for only $19.

    "vokey"

I have a Cleveland 588 54*. The 588's are just great feeling clubs...the ball explodes off the club face like a bullet shoots out of a gun.
  13. I play $3-4 balls because you pay for consistency of spin. Although from what I hear the Bridgestone balls are making it happen for $2.50 a ball or better.
  14. Ever played at Lantana? hehehe...Golf tournament my freshman year in high school, I shot a 106. 144 bunkers, most were half the size of the fairway.
  15. If you put Tiger against Jack, both in their prime, Tiger would win. But Jack was the more consistent and enduring golfer. Even when he didn't win, he was always on the leader board. You can't say that about Tiger...he is either in 1st place or no place.
  16. 8 iron + putting stroke. Bump and run.
  17. Try exaggerating bad posture/swing elements. They will help you understand what motions and stances cause bad ball flights. Once you've figured those out, what remains is a good swing.
  18. If there is a nice tuft of grass I MIGHT not tee it up. 95% of the time I will tee it up with a broken tee...just to have it sitting up 1/4". Who wouldn't?
  19. Take a half swing to get used to the club Rip it.
  20. I just got a Cleveland 588 54* on 3balls.com for $19. Can't beat that.
  21. Wow. $800 is a new set of irons! Wish I had it to 'throw away'. I looked at the Expand-a-green...its pretty cool for what it is (an indoor putting green). Being in college right now money isn't something I have a lot of, but hopefully I'll make enough money some day to put a real putting green in my back yard. Texas Greens by Design does custom work starting at $7000 (about 500-600 sq. ft.) using turf. I figured thats cheaper than putting in a $30,000 swimming pool!
  22. FootJoy WeatherSof. I've played it for 7 years.
  23. I hit a draw...but honestly I'd rather hit a fade. Is that weird?
