  2. A lot of the Vokey gap wedges aren't spin milled. When they started spin milling them, they originally didn't spin mill anything below 54*. It's not crap at all. It'll spin plenty for a gap wedge...more so than your other irons, but less than your sand wedge...just like it's supposed to. As you can see, I have one, and I love it. I say stick with it! Good luck :-) Ryan
  3. Ogio Vision SS... For some reason they weren't on the market very long, but I snagged one for Christmas a couple years back. I haven't ever found one that looked better or had better features...
  4. Need to buy a couple new ones...any strong opinions one way or another? I usually just buy a Nike Elite that the shop has where I play the most. Thanks! God bless, Ryan
  5. Just downloaded GolfLogix and Swing by Swing, and am excited to try out both. Looks like GolfLogix has a lot more options though... God bless, Ryan
  6. I buy almost everything on ebay from actual pro shops that have really good ratings. Never had a problem, and you can't beat the prices. Just bought a brand new set of Burner 2.0 irons for $490 and a new Cleveland Launcher DST driver for $80. As for other websites, you should google www._______.com reviews to see what other people say about it. Good luck! God bless, Ryan
  7. If it were me, I'd just hit all of the drivers and irons you can, and see if something clicks. I recently bought the new Burner 2.0 irons and was playing the r7s for about 4 years. I just really liked the way the Burners felt when I hit them. Whatever makes you the most confident is what makes sense to go with. Coach where I play says "it's the indian shooting the bow, not the arrows in the quiver." If the indian feels great about the arrows, he'll shoot more confidently :-) God bless, Ryan
  8. I love the Hogan irons you mentioned... I can't speak to many of the other smaller companies you spoke of, but I definitely like looking at all of them when I run across a shop that has them. God bless, Ryan
  9. I've got to put in a good word for the Ping S58s. I'll probably get some before the summer's over. I also love the Hogan Apex blades. Silky smooth. I haven't hit many of the Titleist, Cobra, or Cleveland irons. That's my vote!
  10. I have them, and use them sparingly. I don't like the way they look, and they're kind of a pain to take on and off on a lot of shots. I keep one on my sand wedge, because it's the middle of the three Vokeys in the bag, and I don't want them dinged up too much!
  11. I finally got properly fit for my irons. I need to have them bent 3 degrees upright. Is it safe to assume that I should have my wedges bent the same? Thanks! Ryan
  12. Classic that fit like sneakers! aka Footjoy!!! Haha! Take care, Ryan
  13. I have the tour chrome and love them. The oil can almost looks rusty to me...You should see which you feel more confident standing over and go with it! Good luck, Ryan
  14. Thanks for the reply! Other information would be extremely appreciated! Thanks, Ryan
  15. My dream set: Driver-Nike SQ Sumo 5000 with a UST Proforce V2 Fairway Wood-Titleist 906F4 3 wood Hybrid-Adams Idea Pro 16* Irons-Mizuno MP-67 Wedges-Titleist Vokey 52, 56, 60 Putter-Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Select
  16. Mine are the tour chrome finish. You can't go wrong with the great matte silver finish, and you can see very precisely where you hit the ball every time with the grass on the chrome. Great purchase! Good luck, Ryan
  17. I love my Vokeys, and when I ordered them I had True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shafts put in them simply because that's what's in my irons. I've learned since then that those don't have great feel, which is something everyone wants with their wedges. My question is, do you think I should have different shafts put in them to increase feel, or will it make much difference? Thanks! Ryan
  18. I'd draw it in there with a 4 iron unless it was really wet or windy. If I needed to carry it to the pin, I would use my 19* hybrid.
  19. True Temper Dynamic Gold S300s. I have a pretty high ball flight, so the low trajectory of the S300s neutralize it to give me what I want out of a shaft.
  20. I work at the pro shop at Western Illinois University, and a lot of the guys on the team like Mizuno for irons, but other than that, it's mostly Titleist and Taylormade. Tim Streng, our All-American from last year is a pretty loyal Titleist guy.
  21. I would agree that Mizuno is in the elite of golf production companies, and I would have to put Adams at the very top of the mid-majors. They are always on the Golf Digest Hot List, and the only club they don't sell is putters. They typically have either the number 1 or 2 most used hybrids on each respective tour, their fairway woods and drivers are getting a lot of attention, they have many options as far as irons for beginners to scratch players, and they have the Watson line of wedges. Along with that, Aaron Baddely and Rory Sabbatini jumped on board with Adams Golf this year and are some great young talents on the PGA Tour. They are a company that has always been popular on the Champions Tour and are making themselves known on the PGA.
  22. Where I work, the pro shop carries mostly Nike, and I can get the Elite model for about $8, so that's what I use. They're very comfortable, and they do ok when wet also. Good luck, Ryan
  23. Right now it's 9.5, but I'm going to order another one at 10.5. I like to have a little more carry.
  24. The S58s, S59s, or these new S57s will be fairly difficult to be consistent for a beginner. However, there are exceptions, so don't rule out giving them a try. As far as the way they look, they look awesome. I've been a fan of the first two models and this one looks to be just as nice if not nicer. I'm sure we'll have them at the pro shop whenever they come out!
  25. I'm playing the r7s. They've earned the highest ratings from Golf Digest's Hot List for the last two years, and they are extremely easy to hit. The only bad thing is that the 3 iron is 20 degrees and the 4 iron is 22 degrees. That's why you can see that I don't carry the 3 iron. Other than that, excellent clubs! Give them a shot! Good luck, Ryan
