  1. Yeah, durability isn't much of an issue if you play a ball for one 18 holes. My 52* gap wedge will shredd off many urethane cover balls but Pro V1x can really stand it pretty well. Thanks for your reply!
  2. Guys, how is the durability comparison between Pro V1x vs Penta TP? I could play a new Pro V1x after 3+ rounds of golf and still in good condition if i did not lose in the rough or OB. Thanks!
  3. How much did they cost you to get those driver fittings?
  4. 2-piece low compression golf balls will roll more and spin less, i think they will fare better in softer and slower greens which many public courses will offer. But when we play at harder and faster greens, a 3 or 4 piece high compression premium ball will help more than the 2-piece counterpart since high compression ball should spin more and easier to control on short games. The advantage of high compression balls on short games will drop somewhat in softer and slower green than that of low compression balls.
  5. i have 6 Cleveland clubs in my bag. They are pretty good.
  6. i am playing Adams OS Tech irons set, they have True Temper GS-75 steel shaft in 7-PW. True Temper GS-75 is one of the lightest steel shafts on the market, it weights about 85 gram. i shoot 145-150 yards with 7 iron in regular shaft, it's a pretty stable light shaft.
  7. I have all the same shaft weight on driver and fairway woods at 65g. They have been in my bag for over 4 or 5 years. 65g fairwaywood shaft is pretty common for R-flex, while many S-flex shafts have 75g in weight.
  8. Is it better to have same shaft in all your woods? i would think that too, but i play four different shafts in my woods though. Also, pro players have different shafts in their woods as well. Example, http://www.thegolfchannel.com/whats-...-invitational/
  9. One of my friend's wife has been literally enjoying her golfing on lots of Thursdays and many other occasions, she shoots over 100's. I have had many frustrated days of golfing on my part as well, try to treat it as exercises which should help your health when i had some bad rounds.
  10. It's a great way to break 90 and to enjoy playing golf!
  11. Congrats! :
  12. Perhaps you are looking for a high kick point (tip firm) shaft. The firmer the tip of the shaft, the lower the angle you will launch.
  13. Agreed, a 3 or 4 wood could help him in these 230-240 yards shot.
  14. He surely needs a 3 or 5 fairway wood on top of the wedges, he will be still fine within 14 clubs in the bag. Play to the maximum of adavantage that rule permits, if you think a high handicapper should only carry 12 or 13 clubs that's fine.
  15. Fix my shanks from Tina Mickelson (Phil's sister) on Golf Channel many years ago, that was the best single golfing advice that i've ever had. Thanks, Tina!!
  16. This Cleveland Launcher 460 (Proforce V2) has been with me for almost 5 years, i love it. It has one of the best 4.92 out of 5 rating for almost 150 reviews in Golfreviews . Taylormade R9 460 is also a great driver which is 4.88 out of 5 rating. http://www.golfreview.com/cat/driver...3_2948crx.aspx
  17. Why it makes no sense?? It makes all sense to fill 14 clubs you are allowed to and when it comes with a 235 yards par 3 or 236 yards to reach the green on a par 5 hole, what are you going to hit, that driver to go over the green or that 3 hybrid which can only reach 220 yards the max?
  18. Looks like you have a distance gap between 250 and 210-220 yards, you can fill in a fairway wood that will get you 230 yards. It's allowed to carry 14 clubs in your bag, so i guess you will have some space to add a club or two.
  19. Probably you will play a stiff flex shaft by judging your swing speed. Most stiff flex graphite shaft will have 75 gram and up in weight, i know some pro players have 85-95g shaft. Lighter shaft should help increasing swing speed but you will need to have better control on that stick as well.
  20. Go check out your driver speed on a monitor, i would say you'd better play with a regular flex driver shaft if your driver speed is below 95 m/h. Softer flex will add distance. Also the 460 cc driver head will give you a bit larger sweet spot than your current 420 R7. Larger sweet spot will help you hitting a bit more distance and better accuracy.
  21. New or used Pro V1x, i would pull off the used Pro V1x in a very tight and OB prone course, otherwise i mostly play new ones in a fair course. Pro V1x is pretty durable, one new ball would last 1-2+ rounds of 18 holes without much damage on the cover.
  22. i can remember that a couple of my buddies and me spent $300/each for Great Big Bertha driver and their fairway woods in early '90s. They are pretty solid woods, only the driver head is about 320cc comparing to 460cc nowadays. Callaway makes very good irons as well. i think you are good to go!
  23. i marked one black dot just beneath the number on each side of the ball for personal identification.
  24. i play Adams hybrid irons (5-PW) myself, they are some solid clubs to hit and cheap in price.
  25. Exactly the same score that i shot two weeks ago in my club tournament. 43 out and 36 in, i had three birdies, one bogey and one double bogey in back nine.
