If you are spraying them left and right, I would not suspect the lie angle, especially if the same club is going both directions. That would make me think swing consistency. If all your shots with your irons are going one way, then I could see the lie angle being off. See what the pro thinks during your lesson, I think that makes the most sense.

Yeah - I enjoy watching him play. If he's in contention, we'll see him.

I want to see more of the woman from the "Top 10" show ad.... :)

Fast Swing Speed, why not me?
mkoreiwo replied to mrserv0n18's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Ok, so I'm 52 and my driver ss averages around 105... So speed for you is there, you just have to learn to tap into it. Its only your second year playing, and that may have a lot to do with it - though maybe not. Golf is really weird, in that it really is a game of paradoxical paradigms - you hit down to get the ball up , you swing easy to hit it further . I watched my friend hit today, and he looked like he was swinging out of his shoes, yet his ss was consistently below mine. When I swing my "goal" (apart from finding a fairway) is to make a balanced motion swing. It is hard to explain really, but I think the more your mechanics become "fluid", the faster your swing speed will get. There are lots of ways to "lose" clubhead speed. If you aren't satisfied with your swing and the effort you are putting into it, I would say book some lessons, and see if a good pro can't get you tapped into you potential. Good luck - addicting bugger of a game isn't it? -
Yep... A good combo. Dottie Pepper &judy; Rankin are among my favorite announcers for the LPGA - actually - any tour. And Hammons does a good job as well. The high priced duo doesn't do nearly as good a job!

Well... seems obvious in the voting that a good iron is the one. Nothing like it imho!

Yeah - No S#$!! I plan to watch sunday, but it looks like everything is sewn up. He could disintegrate, but that would be cosmically disturbing to crumble soooo much. I like Geoff, and hope he does well this year. Low key, plays golf, 'nuff said!

Solus wedges (7.1 Tour Model)
mkoreiwo replied to jonanthans's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Not really. At least if you look at their specs. The 4's might have a bit of difference due to the cavity, but on paper, they are the same. -
Hibore XL trajectory too high
mkoreiwo replied to jfrain2004's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
yep.... The stiff red may also work for you, but I found i didn't hit it too well, I went with a grafalloy Epic, and I love the feel of it. You can't go wrong with a VS Proto either, but shaft feel is an individual thing.... (I also have a BiMatrix stiff that I like in one as well) ymmv... -
Solus wedges (7.1 Tour Model)
mkoreiwo replied to jonanthans's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Yep... I have them as well. Not a household name and that probably is why more people don't play them... Have you hit them out of a bunker yet? Very good there as well... I have their older 61° not the new simply because I don't hit it well enough, often enough... And I have a hard time yanking another club to have four wedges in the bag! -
Rife – Can’t make up my mind which model.
mkoreiwo replied to crazygolfnut's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have the Barbados black, and it is simply a stunning putter. It falls right between my Mizuno Bettinardi BC-3 and Mizuno Bettinardi C-04, f you are looking for a feel comparison. As with others, I'm just not a fan of the two-bars. That said, it all really coms down to your personal preference, and for me, I really gotta love my putter - both esthetically and performance wise... -
Just want to chime in and say I can't stand Williams. He's made a nice life on the coattails of Tiger. He should shut up an carry the bag. There's no other caddie out there who draws as much attention to himself. BIG EGO!

New Cleveland Driver - Which One?
mkoreiwo replied to abalmer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'd opt for the XL. The XLS just didn't seem to be that much "better" to those who've used it. Yes some liked it. The XL is a great bargain, and if you are willing to try different shafts, you can have a really smokin' driver. That said, honestly, I would buy the driver that you hit best, provided its in your budget. Unless of course, you want to buy for the bling value or perceived "status" of what you use... -
Mizuno Bettinardi BC1 Putter Arrived Today
mkoreiwo replied to retozimmermann's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Most places I play don't have very fast greens, and on those the softer putters just don't work for me. I wasn't offering any criticism of the putter per se, just pointing out how soft the FIT feels. I am not an insert fan either! And actually, I think I may have done better had I gotten the BC1 or 2. Lately the C04 I have has felt really good.... I really am glad you like it. The Mizuno Bettinardis are beautiful putters imho. -
Mizuno Bettinardi BC1 Putter Arrived Today
mkoreiwo replied to retozimmermann's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Hope you enjoy the BC1. I have the BC3 and while I DO like it, I find it is a very soft putter, no doubt to the "FIT" face technology applied. My other Bettinardi is a C04, which I have found lately is the putter that is "feeling" right for me - at least "right now". Of course, that can change, and that's why I don't get rid of putters! Hope this one is at least a temporary Holy Grail! -
I've the 08 and 09. While 09 has some improvements, the thing that really kills it for me is the putting!!!! I'm not hot on the way they retooled that... you almost have to make a full swing to make even a 5 footer. Thats not the way to set up a game that is supposed to mimic a golf swing! Otherwise, its a good game. However, that said, I dislike the putting SO much I don't play it very often :(

Rife Barbados for me... I've never owned a Yes, but have had a Barbados for a while now - actually since they first came out.... The roll groove seems to give me a feel between the Mizuno C-04 and BC-3 that I own. It sets up very well for me... As someone else said though, and I concur, that putters are so personal you've got to try them yourself and decide...

Well, with the groups I play with, you're hitting your third. Yes, technically that is not correct, but the situation you describe is pretty specific. I have had the exact thing happen to me on a hole: my partners all said I'd be fine, but - couldn't find the ball - dropped and hit 3.....

Muscle Pulls, Side Cramps, Bruised Ribs

Ditto... I had an intercostal injury and it took a long time to heal. Swing was almost impossible to do! Rest it up... its gettin' colder anyway.... -
Bridgestone B330 RX
mkoreiwo replied to golf hungry's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I've played a round with them along with a friend of mine. He plays V1x's as a rule, and Taylormade red's. He was pretty impressed with the 330RX, and will be playing them this weekend in a tourney. His assessment was that they were on par or better for him than either of his preferred balls. he's going to get back to me on Monday with another report. For me, I play Cally iX for my premium ball, and e6's as a mid-priced ball. The 330RX really wowed be off the driver, and I did think that it offered a bit more feel and spin for me off the wedges. really though, in my hands its a tough call. The Callaway iX has worked very well for me. I'm going to give the RX a few more rounds before I ditch the iX for good. -
...It's called "fashion"... She is a part time model, and you can be sure whatever she's wearing is not something picked up at goodwill. Frankly I like it, but then, I've been known to appreciate fashion when I see it.

One word on Woods '09: PUTTING! Absolutely horrid. They have to fix this or the game is gonna flop. Thank god I have '08!

Check out Famous Cigars. They have some good articles on "calibrating" an analog humistat. Actually, they are very good once they are calibrated. I have used digital models, and have found that they can vary quite a bit. I have had them give readings (comparing two in the same humidor) of 5 percentage points and more! I reccommend using the largest humidor and investing in the "Cigar Oasis" - check it out - I love this thing....

Yeah - I heard that and did a mental double-take... Funny as heck to me, it just came out so fluidly - like he was just shootin' the breeze at a bar with his buds.
