  1. Dude, are you TRULY this stupid??? LOL I specifically posted what the USGA uses to rate clubs since 2003...after COR was deemed obsolete....if you had HALF a freakin mind, you'd actually look it up and SEE that the COR gauge was eliminated since 2003...but all clubs judged on it (by that time are still maintaining their conformance standards). I realize that you do not like to be corrected in public and will delete this post because you are a self centered coward and afraid to be corrected... So be it.. Some people will see this..and I have copied the thread to post in other forums so EVERYONE can see the justice that prevails...one of honesty trying to help others...or the one of yours. We are registered with the USGA...we are class "A" PCS clubfitters...we won best Club maker of the year a few years ago from Golfsmith...we have submitted 7 heads in the last 3 years for approval to the USGA (one loft of a specific model failed)...if ya don't believe me, call Carlton at the USGA But I know ya won't...you're gonna delete this thread because you are a coward.
  2. Look up rules more recent than 2003 cowboy...and at the same time look up pendulum testing... Okay, I was rounding the numbers...Nitrogen accounts for 78.08% of the air we breath..... The heads are NOT pressurized...I have worked with many of them, re shafting and removing particulate in them...and I can assure you they are not pressurized. Like all heads we receive, they have been measured, tested for everything from face and body material to MOI...and there is nothing unique about these heads....except..... .... the price tag. Wanna go another round?
  3. psst! The USGA hasn't used COR guidelines for years now.......
  4. +1 You will find that lofts will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.
  5. Don't blame the club fitter for that...... A club fitter dials in clubs to the swing of the player.......the fact that the player here decided to change his swing later on is not the fitters problem. Do you blame the clothes fitter for pants he made after you decided to loose 4 inches off the waist?
  6. Without seeing and being able to put you in front of our launch monitor, I can assume you are experiencing the normal effects of so many. Look, when you swing smoothly, you're hitting balls nice...so we KNOW it is not equipment related problem. The problem most likely is, when people try to hit hard, they "muscle up"...and that tension actually SLOWS DOWN your swing speed...now you are slicing. Relax....swing smooth, build confidence and enjoy.
  7. It would be impossible to recommend a shaft without knowing your swing..... Any suggestions without .knowing your speed, tempo, SF, AOI, location...etc would be a disservice to you
  8. I believe you are referring to the EVOLUTION irons....a progressive iron set up... The clubs are great...we have been a KZG dealer for 8 years....but most likely will discontinue, like so many other dealers, due to their attitude and way they treat their dealers. They are well made products....but you should be warned that all the support they talk about, may be gone, or harder to get as days go by.
  9. Great post.....bottom line we are all unique ...in size....force...strength.....style....etc....to even THINK that an OEM can produce a club or clubs for mass usage really indicates stupidity.
  10. A bigger head does NOT cause increased distance. I totally agree...and to take it a step further, we have found that by using a slightly smaller head 420-430cc, using quality material, allows greater manipulation of weight within the head to create a true players head and distance. COOL! Glad to hear! You did a few good things ya probably didn't know..... The head of the 425 vs the Burner are about 8 gms difference.....this caused your shaft to flex a bit more (which is why the burner was so long...to create equal static weight). But by decreasing the length, you "re-upped" your overall flex characteristics...and with shorter over all length, increasing the MOI and hitting closer to center of the face which is greatly contributory to distance....and forgiveness.
  11. I repeat, since there is no industry standard for shaft flex, nor are shafts offered with complete profiles indicating how each beam length will perform, to make such a statement would be incorrect. Also, other considerations when selecting a shaft would be the head it's going into...the weight of the head can dramatically increase or decrease the flexibilty of the shaft, as does the bore depth and BBGM. Also to consider is the swing itself...is the player an aggressive hitter with quick backswing and return? Or smoother? with much wrist lag or minimal? Many, MANY players hit just as far and farther with over all softer flex shafts. Many variables...too many to ever make such a blanket statement.
  12. There is no industry standard for shaft flex...in other words, what may be classified by one mfg as a stiff, may be a R flex by another. Shaft flex (from the OEMS) is guesstimated by how the BUTT END of the shaft registers...it in no way tells you how a shaft will perform at the other beam lengths. So you have no idea if the shaft has a mid, low or high kickpoint, no idea if it is tip stiff or soft. I would estimate that 80% of golfers are hitting shafts too strong for them.
  13. Actually, most Hybrids use a .370 dia shaft.....same as most irons. There WILL be times where a shim is needed...no biggie.
  14. A few reason for shaft price disparities.... 1) Sponsor/marketing expenses. Most of the top brands are not "Top" due to performance, but often who they pay to play their products...the trickle down expenses is passed along to the end user. 2) Illusion. Many companies control MSRP to points obscenely higher that of normal market practices.....They do so to reward dealers for pushing their products. 3) Mfg/material differences. Specifically sheet rolled vs. Fiber Wound....Sheet wrapped graphite has to be stored flat and climate controlled environment...whereas Fiber would is tightly rolled and doesn't require rigid storage conditions. Sheet rolled is manufactured by hand which is costly and often includes a more pronounced spine and, in many cases less tolerance control. Fiber wound is spun rolled by computer, rapid production, minimal spines and extremely tighter tolerance....yes, in most cases the less expensive fiber wound maintains tighter tolerances than the expensive sheet rolled....and much cheaper...but the trade off is they often don't have the nice feel a quality hand rolled shaft has.
  15. Did ya notice how Iacas removed his post....to allude he never said what we copied?? He has a habit of sticking his foot in his mouth and then try to recover...in this case, he removed his post...I am surprised he didn't remove ours as well.....but give it time.....he will. Everyone, in all the forums talks about his ways...and a couple are watching this thread.......with interest.
  16. Real cool to spread rumors like that.... Seems to me the same heartless thing was said about Annika....before she was married....
  17. Dox- To learn as a hobby, In my opinion, the best thing (if possible) is as to learn from a local club fitter......offer to do free assistance in exchange for his education...... If you want to move on and leran as a profession, I would recommend Maltby Academy ( http://www.golfworks.com/article.asp_Q_ai_E_494 ). Good luck!
  18. Demo various ones and find out for yourself. What works for others may not work for you.
  19. Your response makes no sense. When you say "those machines are crap". what machines are you referring to? A Zelocity? a Flight Scope? a Vector? a DSG? how can you possibly offer assistance to the guy with a generalized response, not identifying the equipment you're condeming? How can anyone offer advice to the poor guy without knowing ANYTHING about his swing? or did he change equipment from the first test to the next? Or did he even test both times on the same machine? Hell, even a different ball can make a difference.
  20. A couple years ago I learned the Austin method from the original book/DVD (How to Kill the Ball) and liked it a lot....so I FLEW out to meet and get two lessons from Dan Shauger. Despite my concerns, he had me repeat a swing which seemed completely un natural (right knee in front of my left elbow at impact)....After some practice, I was so sore I could not sleep that night...excruciating pain. Turned out Dan's advice caused me to tear my rotator cuff and sidelined me the remainder of the season....and cost me thousands of dollars in medical expenses. If you wanna hit the ball further than anyone on the planet...instead of going to Dan's driving range...drive about 5 miles over to Angeles National and tell Pat Dempsey that Rory sent ya to him to "learn ya to hit far".
  21. I golfed 91 consecutive months outdoors in Iowa...till last December. I skipped this December and January...but plan on being on the course on Tuesday.
  22. They stated that the ball had landed on a spot that had been "trampled" and left the surface unplayable. The rules allow you to take a drop under such conditions.
  23. I have been looking fr two years to get this on Wallpaper....
