50 years old

5' 9"

190 lbs

goal- 180-185 (range)

going to be difficult, since I developed a sweet tooth recently, I do drink 1 soda per day also, dont know why they are so good to me, I avoided them for 30 yrs. Hmph? I'll be damned if I know??

I figure I'll lose 10 off the bat then try to keep it in my comfort range. I know I'll have some weeks or days where I'll be at my high end of the range but Im hoping I can spend some serious time down around the low end of my weight range too.

Im expecting my handicap to lower also, from weight loss and more play starting tomorrow. 3 rounds per week and short game practice on the days I dont play for at least an hour or 2

Im going to try to obtain a 0 index......Key word is "try"    I think I can do it.

Basically following their fat burner diet (first 30 days) which consists of 5 proteins a day, 1 carb, 2 dairy, 1 fruit, 2 veggies, 1 protein bar, 1 snack.  I am following the 1400 calorie a day level.

The workout is 6 days a week, each day doing something different.  Chest/Back/Abs, Cardio, Legs/Back/Abs, Kempo, Arms/Shoulders/Abs, Yoga, Rest

Gets addicting after a while.  But my biggest gripe though is the length of the workout.  Most run 75min to 90min long.  Which can be tough to fit in with work and family life.

Update as of 5/18 down to 143.5 lbs.  So far down 12.5 pounds in 30 days.  My original goal was 142 but I think I have a new goal of 130 with more fat loss and some muscle gains.

Nice thread... I too am trying to get back into shape..  I have recently had to give up Triathlon training due to knee surgeries, and at 37 my time to enjoy a lifetime game is finally here (so I am fully dedicated to learning Golf)... but I am trying to get back in shape since I fell so out of shape due to the knee limitations..

    • Nice, I just thought mine was a decent guess to rule out a few things and did not expect to hole out.
    • Hey team. This is a very difficult hole at the course I started golfing on and where I often go back. I always struggle - it’s narrow (35y) with trees on both sides. If you go lateral, you’re out of bounds. The green also feels small.    I play the white tees usually, so 30 or so yards up from here. If I hit my driver, it usually goes lateral and lost or if it curves it hits a tree and I lose a ton of distance.   I carry my 7i probably about 140-145, with 5-7 yards of roll out. Driver is 265 with roll out on a good strike with a premium ball, but probably closer to 220 carry on average. My hybrid goes about 180-200 including roll out but has been fading quite a bit recently not too much wind on this hole and the ground is hard, but I’m not sure I’ve practiced a long punch. If that’s what I need to work on, happy to put in the time.  Appreciate any advice anyone has, approach to holes like this, or other things to consider.

    • Yes absolutely. Lessons work. Would recommend evolvr for anyone willing to put in the practice time.
