Meanwhile the NFL continues to lose the battle to reduce concussions in the league.  Best way to reduce head hunting is to suspend the hitting player for every game the injured player misses.

That sounds ripe for abuse, particularly of teams in your own division. A player lower on the depth chart is dealt a nasty but borderline legal hit by the other team's star corner, or safety, or linebacker, or whatever, and then "misses" the next five weeks of the season, including their next get-together and a few divisional games in between.
