Hi guys, Iv recently started golfing and I absolutely love it. I'm in my senior year of High School and I want to make the golf team really bad. Iv been going to the range or playing a round about 3or4 times a week since the beginning of August. My good friend has golfed for about 6 years now and he has offered to buy me a new set of irons for my birthday. Where going to get fitted and I want to know what questions to ask and what to expect when we go in there. Now what about what clubs should we look for. I don't want the sales rep to try and make me buy the most expensive set but there the wrong fit for me. Any guidance would be awesome and thanks alot guys.

Lots of things are called "a fitting" these days. Everything from a part time high school kid having you hit a few balls on the launch monitor and going back and pulling a club off of the rack that is supposedly the same as the one you hit the best, to certified fitters that will spend 4 or 5 hours fitting you and then building the clubs making sure they actually match what was determined to be optimal.

I would encourage you to watch some of the many club fitting videos on the internet so you will be more informed about different levels of "a fitting".

Here is one from Wishon.
