Okay I'm currently 48 years old and have worked construction trades the past 25+ years and during the past year and a half have put in more time playing/practicing than the previous 10 years I would say. After just about every round or practice session I have had some sort of pain in either my elbow, wrist, or fingers, I use those really soft Winn grips in standard but the pain still happens, I checked out the midsize grip but it only gives 1/32 over the standard versus the jumbo at 1/8 over standard. I did install 3 of these grips on my driver, 7 iron, and gwedge, and really don't notice any change in ball flight it's been a week now, I have what I feel are "active" hands already and have to stave off a hook as my worst shot so I think this may help some but better swing method will be the real cure ultimately. Anybody else use this size grip and what were your findings? My hands are a bit larger than average but more thick than anything else.

I too worked construction for many, many years. At 65 my hands aren't as flexible as they use to be. Depending on the size of your hands, mine are 8 1/2" from my thumb tip to my pinky, and I chose the mid-sized winn dritac grips for my driver and 3 wood.

The larger size gives me more control as I don't have to squeeze the grip, the soft feel also helps me in that I feel my hands sorta mold into the grip, so yeah, the larger size works better for me compared to the standard size grip. I don't think I'm going back to the Winn grips though, as some guys said they wear out much faster than other grips.

I would go to a pro shop and try out different sizes, see what feels best to you.

Mine were a little over 9" but my fingers are not very long I have large thick palms. I already bought the grips and figured I'll put them on after the game today once I get a little feedback.

The jumbo grips maybe just the ticket for you then..

    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
