Golfsmith Custom Fit

I put in my measurements on the Golfsmith website and it was telling me what combination of shaft, stiffness, lie angle, and such. Was wondering how accurate it is. For my irons it was telling -1 deg flat and for my wedges -3 deg flat.

Re: Golfsmith Custom Fit

It all depends on the accuracy of the information you wrote down, what you have done is known as a static fitting, fitting golf clubs by using only static measurements.

I personally recommend getting a complete fit and going to a custom fit centre to do this.

Until you get fitted personally, you won't know.

Ping does a good static fit. Basic.

Re: Golfsmith Custom Fit

I cannot imagine ordering clubs from anywhere based on a static fitting when launch monitors and good fitting centers are so readily available. Use an online fitting system as a rough estimate only. It will never take the place of a session with a pro on a launch monitor.

Re: Golfsmith Custom Fit

i would NEVER go by anything on the internet. I did that once too...just recently. it told me to play a 8.5 degree driver
told me to shorten my shafts 1/2", change the lie and yeah...If i'm puring the ball now, why would I want to change it?

IF you're gonna get fitted..which is what I would say would be the #1 thing that you could do for your game, then go to a place that's gonna take care of you PROPERLY. go to a custom fitting company that spends a good 2 - 3 hours fitting you for everything.... it's kind of cool too seeing what you're doing..and checking out the monitors helps you understand why the ball's reacting the way that it is for you.... I've taken those into account and have worked on it myself....I paid for the custom fitting...and all they changed was the length of my clubs
