Recently I have fallen in love with the Callaway x-20 Tour. Whenever I go to Golfsmith or PGA Superstore I'll pound away with the 6 iron demo club for a good 15-20 mins. Now I have decided to go ahead and find a good used set on the Callaway Pre-owned site or eBay.

The demo 6 irons I have been hitting always have the 6.0 (stiff) Project X Flighted shafts, but my club head speed (avg. of about 73mph) would suggest I'm more of a 5.0 (regular) flex shaft. But I really liked the feel of the club.

So today at PGA Superstore I asked to see if they had any of the x-20 Tour clubs with a 5.0 flex that I could try. All they had was an X-forged with the 5.0 shaft, so I gave that a try to see if it felt any different.

I couldn't really tell a difference between the two shafts and the distances were about the same (avg. of about 160). I thought both clubs felt fine in terms of the shaft flex. Although I was not nearly as accurate with the X-forged, but I account that more the club head rather than the shaft.

Does anyone have any advice on my situation?

Thanks!

go with 5.0. or 5.5. My iron speed is around 80 - 85 mph and I stick with 5.5's. I love PX's. the ball flight is seriously unbelievable and predictable. It took about 3 rounds to get used to the new flight, but they're really great shafts..
you can have them special order you the 5.5's installed in the x20's.

I agree with Yoshi... get the 5.0 for your speed. My swing speed is 90 and I have the 5.5. I could not go back, the ball flights are very predictable. It only took me a round to get used to the ball flight, but I spent a week at the range first.
