I'll be going to my first PGA tour event(no, not as a player ) but as a spectator...The Barclay's, in Mid-August at Ridgewood golf club in New Jersey (Paramus, NJ). What is it like to be at a tour event for those who have gone? I've only watched on T.V. I'm very excited, lol. I hope to see guys like Anthony Kim, Bubba Watson, etc. I am going on the Thursday so these guys have no chance of missing the cut.

At the beginning of the year I went to the Mercedes-Benz Championship, and boy was it FUN!!! First see if you can go on a practice round day because all of the players are a lot more sociable. Also no matter what day you go to get there early and go straight to the range, as you might get to see guys bags and talk to them there, but again if you do this on a practice round day you will get much friendlier guys.

Although it's fun watching the BIG name guys (Phil, Adam Scott, etc.) you may want to follow some of the guys you like, but are not the really big players, as there won't be as many people there watching and you can see better what the guys do.

Finally I just want to say have fun, as you won't forget this for a long time.

Here's what I play:

Do you plan on staying at one hole/area, or walking with a favorite?

My favorite part of going to see the pros is sitting at the driving range. Watch how they warm up and their swing tempo. 30+ years ago when they used to have to supply their own range balls they used to have their caddies stand out on the range with catchers mitts and would direct them where to stand and the caddies would catch the ball almost every time. Now they have all the top balls waiting for them at the range, they just grab a bag, so they get to warm up with whatever balls they play with.

Then spend some time watching them on the putting green and see the drills they use. After that you'll understand why these guys can play like they do.

I'm not sure...I don't even know how it works, to be honest. My dad and I will be going so it may not be up to me...I'd like to follow somebody like Bubba or Anthony Kim around and watch them play if they are doing well.

if you want to wait at the 18th on sunday.... GOOD LUCK. you have to get there crazy early to get a seat. did you do the food & AC tent package too? that's pretty awesome...to be able to get out of the heat..you know August in jersey is NASTY hot and humid.

but checking them out and their drills....listen to them talk about what they want to do...how they're gonna do it..and then see them do it...live is so much better than any 1080p can provide.

are you gonna go too? i think we just got the grounds tickets or whatever...we aren't going on sunday..i'd like to try a practice round, but my dad will want to go to a normal round probably...i would rather go on thursday, but my dad wants to go on saturday...but i dont want to go on saturday because im afraid all the people i'd like to see (bubba watson, kim, just to name a slight few) will be gone and have missed the cut.

    • Why should SuperSpeed get 3x of Stack's profits? I get the part about SuperSpeed wanting damages sustained as a result of Stack, but I don't get why SuperSpeed feels that they're entitled to both Stack's profits and damages.   Does anyone know/think SuperSpeed actually has a case here?

Stack System’s marketing materials inflate apparent swing speed and distance gains through selective presentment of data without qualification that purported gains are not the result, in whole or part, of its training protocol and products. * Yes, I'm joking about abbreviating both "SS." SuperSpeed wants: A judgment that the Stack System has disseminated false and/or misleading information in violation of federal and Illinois law. The deletion of all false advertising distributed and recall of all packaging containing false advertising and a requirement that Stack System issue notices (written or otherwise) to that effect to all current distributors and retailers of its products and all distributors with whom Stack System has done business in the past eighteen months. Written confirmation within 30 days of an injunction detailing the manner and form in which Stack System has complied. An order that Stack System disseminate corrective advertising informing consumers, the trade, and the public of Stack System’s unlawful conduct. 3X all profits received by Stack System as a result of its unlawful actions. 3X all damages sustained by SuperSpeed (as a result of Stack System’s actions) The cost of the action All reasonable attorney fees All other relief to which SuperSpeed are entitled and such other or additional relief as just and proper. Oy.
    • I'm not doing this for the hundred and twentieth time. Sorry in advance, but you get the massively abridged version. Those guys also benefited from the weaker/shallower fields. Also, Watson's career doesn't overlap with Jack's like many think it did. Tom is nearly a decade younger. Jack won only like four majors only after Tom won his first. And Tom won more British Opens than he did all three of the other majors combined, as it was his specialty (not Jack's). Arnie's career similarly doesn't overlap Jack's as much as many think.   Jack would also tell you Tiger was the better golfer.
