who practice at the driving range with a golf club on the ground for alignments? I saw Vijay Singh practice with a shaft in the ground at an angle of his swing plane.

I should really start. One of my biggest problems is that I always set up to the left without noticing and then, sure enough, I stand on the tee box puzzled as to why my drive just sailed straight into the gunch on the left.

Driver: Nike VRS Covert

I used to cut/slice it so I'd aim left.. Now that I got lessons and hit it straight, I ended up on the left in one but it's all good I was only like 70 out.

I ALWAYS practice with alignment aids. I used to use clubs but for the past 10 years have used 2, 3 or 4 old shafts depending on what I am working on.

I remember when I was first learning my teaching pro would always say to me, "You aren't going to hit it if you aren't aiming at it properly".

Yeah I always throw a 3 wood down on the ground when I start my practice at the range. It just saves me from stepping behind the ball and lining up every shot. I know that my feet are aligned and I line up my hips and shoulders off that. Then I can find out who I brought to the dance before a game.

I use those plastic driveway markers. They are as long as a club, and are $1.99 at Home Depot. Perfect for your toe line, ball line, etc. I use 3 or 4 to setup a whole 'alignment station'. I find after 10 minutes doing this - it fixes most of whatever is wrong with my swing. Most faults come before you even start your swing - I am 100% in agreement with that thought.

I place a club at my feet pointing just left of my target to start and then after 12-15 swings I'll take it away. This helps to see if something goes wrong at least I know it was'nt my allignment at the target

I have to. I've only been playing for a short while, so I need to practice on my alignment. On the course I often don't trust my alignment, so the club on the ground helps me to learn what to look for when I'm lined up properly.

      I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.

      Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
