When do manufacturers bring out new equipment?

I haven't bought any golf clubs since 2002 and am looking to get my wife (who is a beginner) a proper ladies driver. She is still learning the basics with short irons but would like to pick one up maybe before Xmas.

In the US do manufacturers bring clubs out at any specific times, like 2009 clubs in the autumn of '08 or something?

I wondered the same thing.

Most of my gear was from the 2002 era as well.

I see most of the current stuff being severly discounted right now.....making me think the new clubs are coming in September through the end of the year.

It's too much to keep up with....that's for sure.

My guess would be that new equipment would come out before the start of the season or in the winter.

It's kind of like how video game manufacturers wait until autumn to release games because some people(especially gamers) tend to stay inside during the winter and the holiday season.

Could be the same for golf. Manufact. could be waiting until the holiday season.

I think Titleist is coming in the next 3-4 weeks. At least I heard from my pro that is true about the new drivers and I am almost certain about the new fastback and squareback Scotty Camerons.

EDIT for new info. Looks like mid to end of Oct early Nov on the drivers is what he just told me. The Cameron stuff is still very real though.

      Went to a PING fitting day today. Going to be ordering a G430 Max 3w with a 75g x-stiff shaft at 5w length and a 3h. I forget what my fitter did with the shaft on that but she told me she’s going to email the club the specs of everything. The 3w combination we found pretty quickly. As for the hybrid, we tried a bunch of different head and shaft combinations for that distance with mixed results. Then she handed me the 3h and I took three swings with it and knew it was the one.

      That’s quite a generalization. It’s clear that you don’t like water but there are plenty of us that drink it just fine. My daily intake is usually about 20oz of black coffee, 16oz of soda, 8oz of milk mixed into a protein shake, and anywhere between 30-60oz of water. It doesn’t even need to be cold and I kind of prefer it closer to room temperature than cold. I quite like the taste of tap water, with sole exception being the tap water at Magic Kingdom (it’s terrible). I can’t stand when people bring me tap water with a lemon wedge in it. I didn’t ask for lemon in my water.
