OCN, if you are willing to pay definitley go to Grand Cypress, Mission Inn - El Campeon, and Metrowest. I just went in July and those were my favorites.

What about the Disney courses where they play the PGA? Any good or over rated?

The Palm Course is probably the toughest course at Disney. Good challenge. Also, I enjoyed Osprey Ridge and the Magnolia.

The Palm Course was a tournament set up my son played in as a junior. We were there for a week and had a great time playing golf and doing the Disney thing. We definitely played more golf.

BTW... We did not stay on property. We went there primarily to play golf.

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

Last Feb. I played at Disney and if I remember correctly it was upwards of 125.00 that time of year. Wasn't blown away by the condition, but it was decent. I believe you have to be staying on property or be a guest of someone who is, but if you can get on Watson or Palmer course at Reunion it is well worth it. Was there about a month ago and the condition was about as good as one could imagine. Also, got a call from Championsgate a few days ago saying they had a play all day rate for 55.00. If you could play both courses for that I would think thats got to be about the best deal going in Orlando.

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

There is so much good golf in the Orlando area it is difficult to pick just a few favorites. I really loike the Disney courses. Osprey Ridge is the nicest at Diseny IMO. Here is a link to some of my photos of the Disney courses and Orange County National Service at Disney is second to none.

My favorites near Orlando in additon to the Diseny courses include:
Orange County National
Reunion
Bay Hill
Southern Dunes
El Campeon at Mission Inn
Championsgate
Celebration Grand Cypress

You won't go wrong with any of these courses.

Anyone play the Ritz carlton course? Or Hawk's Landing?

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

Marriott's Grande Pines Golf Club is pretty good and Bay hill if you can get on is good as well as Falcons Fire

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

Played at Disney in April 08, Eagle Pines is gone, literally. Bulldozed over to create some million dollar housing marketed toward Euro currency countries I've been told.
Osprey Ridge is a favorite (and supposedly also being closed in 2010), but the construction noise next door at the former Eagle Pines was a distraction.
Palm, Magnolia and LBV were in great shape.

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

I have played Hawks Landing and thought it was in excellent condition with great service from the staff. Locked keys in car in the morning with lights on so the keypad was useless to get in when we finished. We had a round that afternoon at a sister course. They drove us over in the hotels Escalade to the other course and then came and picked us back up when we were done. While we were playing they had a locksmith open the vehicle and had the battery charged when we got back. Used the golfnow site and played it for 45 dollars in the morning. I believe the normal rate was 115. If you can get it for under 60-70 I would add it to your list.

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

We are thinking Grand Pines and The Ritz, since they are close to the condo's.

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

I'd suggest hopping in the car and playing one of the best golf deals in the country:

the Pine Barrens course at World Woods. Blows the doors off anything Orlando has to offer.

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

make sure you take some balls to Grand Pines. There are a lot of places to lose them.
Also if you are traveling with juniors they had a juniors play for free with a paying adult.

Apparently there are 2 reunions...
There is one near Atlanta as well. >.<

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

The one in Orlando is The Ginn Reunion. Three courses on the property (Palmer, Watson, Nicklaus) I believe they have a relationship with a Faldo design not to far away. They also have a waterpark on the property to keep the wife and kids happy during the day while your playing. Very nice accommodations as well.

Re: Best Disney / Orlando courses

Heading down to Orlando myself in February and am looking to find a decent reasonably priced course. Orange County National seems to be getting good feedback.
