Maybe it's not a problem, just a question. Why does PING use their own shafts in their clubs when other OEMs use True Temper, etc.?

I bought my i10s with ZZ65 shafts made by true temper for PING. Other sets come with Dynamic Golds. Why doesn't PING do this?

Also with their woods, they use TFC shafts...other companies come stock with Fujis, Aldilas, etc. Why?

In my Ogio Ozone Bag:

19* TM Burner (stock stiff)

Ping actually offers a variety of "aftermarket" shafts in their clubs at no extra cost. Each of mine were ordered through a local retailer for the same price as their TFC shafts.

I should also add that their prices remain very fair for the service and hight product quality.

Regarding irons shafts, the new S57's have TTDG R300, S300, and X100 as stock shafts. The ZZ65's are basically S200's (at least that's what my coach told me, he's a Ping staffer.)

And regarding the graphite shafts, the TFC shafts are made by UST, and are made to optomize ball flight in each club head. But with the Rapture V2 driver, the Diamana Blueboard is a stock shaft. In the fairway's and hybrid's you can get the JavlnFX M7 shaft as a stock shaft as well. And in the G10 series (driver, fairway, and hybrids) you can get the ProLaunch Red or the UST Proforce V2 High Launch. On top of these stock shafts, that you overlooked, PingWRX does an amazing job, you can get grinds done on wedges and irons, different shafts, lofts checked and changed, lies perfected, and they can do a lot with putters as well. All of this information can be found here

Here's what I play:

undurable? Do you mean durable?

Wouldn't it be more likely that he means NOT durable?

I know the driver shafts are made specificly for that type of driver with the amount of flex and kick point being different. If you try and put a shaft in a ping driver it is hit and miss on if it is a good combination to work with that head or not. But as for the irons and the driver it is probably cheaper for them to do this.
Just my 2 cents

I don't think it's as bad as Callaway using the "uniflex" shaft for about 10 years. They might still be using that. I don't know.

Yeah...they still are in the big bertha line at least.

this guy knows what he's talking about and doesn't take a complete word and change it. I have a ping 3 wood which i loved but the shaft broke 3 times and it was getting old so I changed to a reasnobly old but new callaway big bertha. Is it just me or are the older 3 woods and 5 woods (old as in 3 to 5 years older) better than the newer models. i find they are easier to control and arn't doing all the MOI and intertia bullsh*t that make them too big and hard to hit if your not on the tee using a driver tee. I find a traditinal driver like my srixon W-506 much better than other weird ones.
