The R9 has FCT (Flight Control Technology), you can adjust the head to the shaft. The TP is a fixed loft and lie.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

There's no difference in the heads. They are exactly the same, you're just paying for the real Motore shaft or any of the other TP offerings (Fubuki, Voodoo, Matrix, etc).

Also the author listed that he hit the r9 25 yards farther than his previous one, can anyone else confirm this? I'd be very interested in a 3 wood that goes as far as possible.

All I've been able to figure is that the TP has an 85 gram shaft vs. the regular with a 70 gram shaft. Both have the adjustability. Is there something I'm missing? Is it worth $70 difference for the heavier shaft? Guess if you hit it that much better....

The non-TP Motore shaft is a "Made for" version and not the same as the actual Motore which is standard in the TP version. Plus, you can upgrade to a few other top dollar shafts (Voodoo, Matrix Ozik, Fubuki) at no charge (I think). As for if it's worth it, it all really depends on the player and the golf swing. Lower handicappers tend to see the bigger improvements in ball flight and distance moreso than the higher handicappers but there is nothing wrong with the "Made for" shafts, they are made with the same materials by the same company they are just designed for the majority of golfers.

i got custom shaft so it's neither the regular or the TP

the guys fitting it said it is another TM scam (like the Burner 2008 series, calling it "tour launch" when it was just a smaller head)
