Does anyone play the Cobra FP or FP2? I recently sold my Nickents and I am back to looking for a set of Irons to replace them. I am just doing some research at the moment on a couple of sets that are in my price range (200-400) new or used and they seem to be getting good reviews for a GI set. I still have to go and hit some different clubs but Im trying to narrow down my choices a little bit by seeing what ohers have to say about them.

TIA

there are great deals for the callaway x20s (the 22's are amazing)... another good choice are the fp's if you are looking for a forgiving stick....

I looked at them at Dicks before I bought my Nickents but I didnt have time to hit them since the Demo area was kind of backed up. I definately want to try the Cobras, R7, and the CG golds and probably whatever else catches my eye but Im probably going to buy online. Ive been watching Callaway Pre-owned alot lately and have been seeing a few good deals on there. The only thing I was wondering about is what I can expect from a set of clubs that are in "GOOD" condition. Im not expecting them to be perfect but I dont want to buy a set of beat up clubs.

I have FP's. Got them last spring and LOVE them.
I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

Im glad they are getting good reviews because I really like the way they look. Lets just hope I can hit them and end up liking them. Im going to hit alot of different clubs to see which ones I like as of right now Im leaning towards the R7 and the FP. Im also looking into Mizunos game improvement clubs but Im wondering if golf galaxy would have any of the ones I was looking at (MX-25, MX-23). With that said Im probably going to buy them from Ebay or Callaway preowned. Can anyone give me any input about Callaway preowned condition ratings. Im basically just wondering what I can expect from a club listed in "GOOD" condition.

Thanks

Had the Nickent Arc clubs, thought I would try the newer irons to see what I was missing. Bought the FP set, and really can't tell any difference at all. Not that the FP's are bad, just no improvement over the Nickent.
Should have kept the Nickent set and spent the money elsewhere.
Newer is not always better, unless you believe the marketing guys.

Was not a fan of the FPs. They did not fit my eye.

They followed a set of Nike Forged Pro Combos and I never got comfortable with them. Thicker topline and general look at address messed with me. Changed to Titleist 735CBs and then my current setup and both were much more comfortable for me . I was used to a more players club and couldn't get over the topline and offset.

I can see how they are great GI irons as I have recently hit similar clubs well (when borrowing from friends/family on vacation). Just not for me.

I figured I would go ahead and update this thread. I still havent bought anything yet but so far I have hit the Cobra FP, TM R7, Ping G5,Ping G10,Callaway X18 and the Cobra SZ. Out of the ones listed I liked the FP and The R7 the best. I have been searching online looking for a good deal for these but I think I want to try and hit the Nike CCI before I pull the trigger on one of the above mentioned set of clubs. Ive always liked the look of them but I have never seen them in a store were I could hit them. Does anyone know if there would be anywhere that would carry these clubs. I have been to golf galaxy but I didnt see them. Also, does anyone know how these compare to the FP and the R7.

The Nike CCI's are probably to old to find in stores. I believe that they came out in '06. I tried them a couple of years ago.... Nice looking and feeling club, but seemed to play about a club shorter for me.
