I am considering purchase of TaylorMade Burner Irons (not really looking at the Burner Plus or Tour Burner, etc., Should I?). If anyone out there is playing these or has tested them, I'd like to hear your opinions/experiences. I'm planning to go to demo day later this month to hit them outside on the range. I like the concept of change in design elements as you progress from longer to shorter irons (sort of like the combo/split set concept, although all the Burners are Cavity backs). Have I been hypnotized by their Advertising???? I am 52 years old, 8 handicap; currently playing TM R7XD irons. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

As a single digit handicap, I have to assume you are a pretty good striker of the golf ball. I'd suggest checking out the Mizuno MP line, Callaway X-22 Tours, or the Titleist AP2's.

You may find you like a players iron more.

As for the ones you want to demo; I have had no experience with them so I can't really tell you - no harm in trying them out though.
