Just got these and played them for the first time today. I switched from a set of Ping G2s and have seemed to have lost about 5 to 10 yards. Is this normal? (even on well struck shots)

I was also able to spin the ball back a couple feet. Which I was never able to do with the G2s. Are the grooves different?

Boy, Got me. I switched from the Ping I3's about 5 years ago. Went to the MP-37's which I hit longer than my Pings, then to the MP-67's which seem to have a higher trajectory and lost about 5 yards. But never lost distance.

The grooves seem the same to me.

I suspect so: the G2s are game-improvement irons, and I suspect they have a stronger loft than the MP-57s.

You're going to lose some distance, but it's not as big an issue in the end. So you hit your 6-iron instead of your 7-iron, but with the feedback and control, you'll be at least as accurate with your 6-iron now compared to your old 7-iron from the same distance.
I was also able to spin the ball back a couple feet.

The grooves are fresh, for sure.
