What putter designs are more appropriate for a straight back-straight through stroke and what putters are better for the inside swing path?

To start us off, maybe going through the Scotty Cameron designs and which ones are designed for the above mentioned swing paths.

Driver= Titleist 909D3 9.5 deg
3 Wood= Titleist 909F3 15 deg
Hybrid= Adams Idea Pro Black 19 deg
Irons 3-P= Titleist 695 CB
Wedges= Titleist Vokey Spin Mill 54/10, 60/4Putter= Titleist Scotty Cameron Newport 1.5Ball= Titleist ProV1x, NXT Tour

I'm fairly certain that the more toe hang a putter has, the more it lends itself to the open-square-closed arch stroke. Face balanced putters tend to be better for square-to-square.

However, I am no expert.

mallets for straight and toe hang for inside out. So, basiclly if you go straight get a two ball putter.

The most simple way that I've found is go to the "putter store" and pick up a few putters.

Take each and balance the putter shaft accross your index finger so the putter is parrallel to the ground.

Some putters will have the face more level / even / parallel to the ground. These "face balanced" putters work best for the straight-back-straight-through strokers.

Other putters will balance accross your finger with the toe hanging down. These "toe-hang/ toe-flow" putters generally work best with "open-to-close" strokers.

Most of the Scotty putters I've tried were more for the "open-to-close" strokers. I'm sure he may make a face balanced stick....I've just never tried one.

Many of the mallet styles I've tried are "face balanced", but not all of them are.

I did some research on this exact topic. As mentioned, face balanced putters lend themselves to "straight back straight through" strokes. As far as Scotty Cameron putters go the Newport 2.7 has the traditional look of the Newport 2 but is "nearly face-balanced". I went through 5 putters this year and finally settled on the 2.7.       Went to a PING fitting day today. Going to be ordering a G430 Max 3w with a 75g x-stiff shaft at 5w length and a 3h. I forget what my fitter did with the shaft on that but she told me she’s going to email the club the specs of everything. The 3w combination we found pretty quickly. As for the hybrid, we tried a bunch of different head and shaft combinations for that distance with mixed results. Then she handed me the 3h and I took three swings with it and knew it was the one.

      That’s quite a generalization. It’s clear that you don’t like water but there are plenty of us that drink it just fine. My daily intake is usually about 20oz of black coffee, 16oz of soda, 8oz of milk mixed into a protein shake, and anywhere between 30-60oz of water. It doesn’t even need to be cold and I kind of prefer it closer to room temperature than cold. I quite like the taste of tap water, with sole exception being the tap water at Magic Kingdom (it’s terrible). I can’t stand when people bring me tap water with a lemon wedge in it. I didn’t ask for lemon in my water.

      This is the part I don’t get. He’s not even kind of sandbagging, he’s blatantly doing it and submitting scores that are verified to be incorrect. How he’s not banned from competition is beyond me.

      He's right in what he's saying.I also have done this experiment with a golf shaft swinging with one arm at a time.one arm at a time is for me very fast but both hands together are very slow ..I got my 17 year old son to do this experiment and he swung very fast with either hand and he swung very fast with both hands together..My conclusion up to now is ; I'm not using my wrists properly but I not a 100 percent sure just yet..I will keep trying to fathom this out .I'm a 12 handicap and my son is 3.9 at Westlancs..
