Since the Sharks began playing in the NHL, it's been my dream to see them play in the Cup finals. (Let's not talk about the '08-'09 season because this will turn into a rant.)

This year they are kicking @ss. Anyone else think they can make it to the Finals?

Go Sharks!

NO... looks like Chicago will be representing the West this year... obviously the Sharks will choke like always. Don't feel bad though, I'm a Wings fan and they are so banged up they may not make the playoffs, although if they get healthy they will be a team to watch.

Sharks have a great team, I'm not a fan but they are solid... Their past few years playoff performances will be something they will have to mentally overcome... Thornton is an outstanding player... they have the physical talent to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals that's for sure...

I agree, Chicago looks tough.

My Dallas Stars, not so much.

They always do well in the regular season and then fold like a cheap tent in the playoffs. Can't figure out what it is, but I would never bet with them in the playoffs. You'd think that sooner or later they have to come through though.

As for their top line, Thorton, Heatley and Marleau, I look forward to seeing them on Team Canada at the Olympics. I think Thorton and Heatley are locks for the team with Marleau on the fence. It gets announced on Wednesday.

Wednesday???? Awesome!!! I'm going to the game that night against the Caps. Marleau is tied for 2nd for most goals in the league. Team Canada would be stupid to not keep this hot line together. Sharks vs. Hawks will be a good Western Finals.

The Sharks have a good team, but IMO this is Chicago's year to win the West.

Watched the Stars and Hawks tonight, very entertaining game... Stars got lucky on a couple of goals and won 5-4, they need some good bounces... Hawks are solid though, Toews, Kane, Sharp, Seabrook, et al... Strong team, expect them to make a serious run for the Cup

I've gotta agree with San Jose.

I think a lot of people are still scratching their heads on that trade... Thornton's a franchise player

I disagree. Big Joe is a perfect Assistant. But a franchise is more like Marleau, Crosby, or Ovechkin. Boston made the mistake of thinking he was more than he was. In San Jose, he gets to play the way he wants. No pressure to be more than that.
