It looks like Nick Faldo is winding down his playing career, and he's set to miss next year's Masters as he's signed a deal to replace Lanny Wadkins at CBS:

Being an Englishman and a massive Faldo fan it's a sad day for me. He was one of the main reasons I got into golf, and I remember vividly watching the final round of the Masters in 1996 when he faced off with Norman and basically wore him down with excellent golf.

One of the best "grinders" in the game, he will also be remembered for the final round at The Open when he had 18 pars onan awful day - I think at Muirfield.

Thanks for the memories Nick, you've been a fantastic ambassador for English and European golf over the years, and good luck with your future pursuits.

Yes, I posted this in the "Lanny Lanny Lanny" thread. I'm glad he'll miss the Masters because it means that Lanny will too.

Did you?

Sorry haven't read that thread in a while. I'm kind of glad he won't be in the Masters, I hate the way ex-champions play even when they have no hope of breaking 80 let alone making the cut - not saying that's what would happen to Nick, but I would prefer that champions like him left gracefully if you know what I mean.

Can you imagine Faldo, Feherty, and McCord together? That might turn into a riot! There will be some classic conversations from those three. Of course, McCord won't be at The Masters, but they will all three be together in the other events.

Nick Faldo is solid as the color guy, and CBS' coverage is some of the best we get to see every year (although I like NBC's better). It was a good move for Faldo and CBS.
