I found I've much less distance control with my 5W than any hybrid. My 5W varies between 180 and 220, depending on how good swing did I put on it

Hybrid dispertion in distance is more in a 5-yds range. As far as accuracy goes - call my crazy - but I'll always trust my 5W more than a hybrid... I guess the forgiveness of a fairway wood head is still better than hyb.

It really doesn't matter what club you use. the goal is hitting the ball the distance you need to get pars.
Each of us hit clubs different distances to the same yardage, find the club that works for you, be it a iron,hybrid,5/7 wood or to a driver off the deck.

I had the same dilemna. I got one of the new Titleist 906f2 18 degree (5-wood) fairway woods not too long ago. Originally, I was planning to get a 19 degree Titleist 585 Hybrid and a 15 degree 3 wood. But I found that I wasn't getting the launch on the 15 degree fairway wood. I don't hit 3 wood off the tee, so I really needed a club for long approach shots off the deck. Long story longer. I got the 18 degree fairway wood and I love it. It's got a graphite stiff shaft and I feel like I get good control and distance (about 230 in the air, which was about the same as the 15 degree). I then sold my 19 degree hybrid and bought a 21 degree. I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep it because I don't hit it much further than my 3-iron (which gets about 200 in the air). But I do like the hybrid because if I absolutely have to carry 190-200, I have more confidence that the hybrid will get me there since it's a little more forgiving and it is a little (not by much ) longer than my 3 iron. The other reason I'll probably keep the hybrid is that it does play nice out of bad lies or in the rough. I've been trying to back the ball up in my stance and play it like a 7 iron and I've had some good success. Lower ball flight but good distance. It's hard to do that with a 3 iron without the grass having its way with the clubhead. So, for now I'm leaning towards keeping. Although, if I don't straighten out my drives soon, I may need a 3 wood off the tee.

My driver and I weren't getting along well this weekend, which is a shame cause we normally work well together.....nevertheless I used my

3 and 5 woods off the tee for most of the weekend with much success.

Yes, you did hit those clubs nicely as I was on the losing end

THREE TIMES to you and those rocket launchers. BTW - They are nice looking clubs (may have to get a few myself)
