I;ve been having some ballooning issues with my driver and finally got a new one yesterday. I took it out today to the launch monitor, range and on the course. HUGE difference. With my old setup (cleveland hibore monster xls 9.5* with UST proforce v2 77 gram x shaft set to 46") I would get out to around 285 - 300 with huge amounts of spin and no roll out.

My new driver is an Adams 9064LD 7.5* with a harrison eclipse Long Drive 70 gram XXstiff shaft set to 46". much better carry and roll out. Much tighter Dispersion too. Launch monitor numbers and ball flight on the range were wonderful so I decided to take it to the course. I hit driver 8 times during the round today. I missed the fairway twice by about 15 feet on the left each time.

shot of the day was a 338 yard tee shot down the right side of the fairway on a 530 yard par 5. nothing quite like playing driver then 7 iron for a 2 putt birdie on a 530 yard par 5.

Overall it feels much better than my cleveland driver. I think it has more to do with the shaft than anything. the whole thing feels much smoother, which may be accounted to the swingweight change. The cleveland played to a d7 and the Adams setup is playing to an e2!!!!

Anyone ever get a new driver setup that completely changed their confidence level on the tee box or even how they managed the course during play? this new setup has definitely done that for me.
I love it, counldn't help but share.

I feel you, tried out the R9 today... one big bliss, each hole. Draws, fades, everything magically appears. Pretty sure I actually put a better swing on the ball, too. 18th hole was an absolute monster with trees and water all over, still ripped the sweet baby bejeesus out of that little ball. Just remember; if you do mess up now, it really is you and not the club :( But it's yet to happen, hehe :D

It's amazing what confidence in a driver can do for our games. Sounds like a nice setup.

I went though something very similar. This spring I noticed my drives were getting consisttantly higher and higher in the air(Cleveland Hibore xls 10.5 r flex), so last month I went and got fitted for a new one(Cleveland Launcher dst 9.0 s flex). My drives now have that piercing flight again. I also picked up about 13 yard in distance.

Driver: Cleveland Launcher DST

Hybrid: Cleveland Mashie 3H

Irons: Cleveland Launcher

Wedges: Cleveland cg 15 46, 52, 56, 60

Putter: Odyssey tour black

Ball: Titleist NXT Tour

The whole thing kind of changes the timeline of my goals. I've been 1-4 strokes away from breaking 70 for the last 4 months. Hopefully this will give me shorter approach shots and more opportunities to knock those last 3-5 strokes off.
