Those of you in the know, please break this down for me. I want to know what this driver compliments and what it doesn't.

Stiff Flex; 60 grams; 3.1 Torque; Low to Mid Trajectory / Mid to High Kick

Thanx!

if you're looking for a lower, bit more boring trajectory, then sounds like this shaft would do it.

I am still getting high drives with this, so should I look at lower lofts? My previous driver was 8.5 and this one is 9.5. I tried teeing the ball down some to keep it from getting so high and it did not work all the time. Maybe I should try a 7° Ping G10 club and see what happens. I have always hit the ball high on drives, I don't know if it is a swing flaw because I have always had good distance and streaks of nice straight hitting.

My current driver has the Matrix Ozik 5.5 and the TM R7 Limited head 9.5 with the above specs. I would say 7 degree club would be over kill but I haven't seen an 8 degree club either. I wish I could get a video of my trajectory from the side but I will probably just have to wait for the launch monitor.

hmmm... whats your swing speed like?

I'd say at 9.5* R7, you shouldn't really be getting TOO much air..though i dont know much about the Matrix Ozik 5.5. Might wanna look into switching out the shaft with a definite high kickpoint shaft like the ProLaunch Red or something.

Check out the Proforce V2 I think its 75g....mine is pretty heavy. I like being able to keep my ball below the tree tops and out of the wind.

I hate to ask, but if your current driver is working well then why reshaft?

so he can best optimize his drives.

You can try the UST Proforce V2 76 in a stiff or a UST Axivcore 79. Think they are $50 and $80 on eBay respectively.

Yea what he said. As stated in previous posts, my trajectory appears too high and the ball just kinda hangs up there and I am afraid I am leaving something on the table as far as distance. Furthermore, I just can not leave stuff alone so I am trying to make sure I get maximum out of my drives.

Thanks for the infomation guys I am probably going to continue to learn more before I buy anything, I am not someone who likes to trial and error with money. I want to get it right the first time.

yea most of the matrix shafts are mid/high launching. I like them so far though.

I am looking at a Ping G10 7.5* driver with a E360 Fujikura shaft. The shaft doesn't appear far off the Matrix but maybe the loft will even it out. Any thoughts?

just changing the loft of your driver still won't get you optimal trajectory. your best bet is to get the shaft fitted, not the loft.

Ok, then stick with the 9.5 head for now?

9.5 with that shaft shouldn't be outrageously high. Go see a pro if you can, for the peace of mind if nothing else. Could be swing mechanics/impact position that is causing the high ball flight.

    • I get kidney stones. So 100 oz of water every day. Some nights I drink 32oz between midnight and 6 Am. Which means I dont sleep much.
    • 46 (9 over) Short game and putts were awful!
    • 46+40 for an 86. I just need to play 9 holes on the range before each round. 🤣🤣🤣
    • I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.
    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
