There are times, like in autumn/winter/spring when the course is wet, the air is humid, etc.... I personally feel it almost adds nothing to the game to play a premium ball.

I have been thinking of playing any of the cheapo rocks in this kind of conditions, as it is not really a big plus to play a premium ball then ...... maybe the Pinnacle isn't the best option as I still prefer a non clicky sound when putting, but lett's say something like a Titleist DT Solo or a Srixon AD333........

Keep you playing the premium balls if the conditions don't allow you to benefit from premium balls or do you step down to a cheaper ball ?

I play the AD333 and D2 Feel during the off season. Now with the weather up here in New England, I've been using the Pro V1's that I still have leftover from last year. I'd still probably play the 2 piece balls on wet days.

I have been using 2 piece balls all fall/winter as a premium ball is not needed in WA during this time.  I like the D2 Feel, Srixon Soft Feel and the Nike PD Soft among others.  I keep any decent 2 piece balls I find during the season and have been playing those plus the D2's I picked up cheap last year.  The way spring is starting, it may be awhile before I have to break into my stash of TM Red's.

No matter what the conditions, there is no time when a budget ball matches the performance of a premium ball.

Whatever.  In the conditions I have been playing in all fall/winter it doesn't matter what ball you hit into a green, everything stops. It is also quite possible to lose balls in places you normally wouldn't, such as balls plugged just off the fairways and greens.  For me, I also like a lower compression ball when it is colder out.  Now if I lived in CA, AZ, FL ect., it would be a different story.
