Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum. I treid posting this last night but I do not think it worked. Anyway...

I am looking at the Burner Plus irons. I got fitted at Dicks Sporting goods. They said I need + 1-1/4". They charge extra money to lengthen the clubs.

I found the same clubs on Golfequipment18. They said they do not charge for longer clubs. They install a complete new shaft. They use DG 300, Project X ,NS PRO950 Steel shaft .

Would it be better to have the stock shaft lengthened or should I go with the new shaft? Which shaft out of the ones listed below would you go with if you think a new shaft is a better idea.

Thanks,

Joe

I'd go with the new shafts. Besides being cheaper, I'd feel more comfortable with a whole shaft rather than one with an insert. As far as the brand, it's a preference thing. I recommend the DG S300. I've tried them all, but I always go back to Dynamic Gold.

Golfequipment18 is selling counterfeit clubs. They offer  50% "discounts" on brands that do not allowing discounting. (Most likely Burners, and definitely Titlist, with Scotty Cameron putters being the most faked clubs of all.)

The name Golfequipment18 was a clue to do a Google search on them. Another clue is their use of the English language. (worse then me!)

The Internet is full of sellers of counterfeit clubs.

Another clue:  "Currently, We only accept VisaCard Payment or Western Union Payment at this moment"  I kinda chuckled at all teh positive comments for the Burners.  I wonder how many were provided by Golfequipment18?!

yea how tall are you? an inch and a quarter is a lot of extra length. tall people are taller so you would think they need longer clubs, but their arms are longer as well... therefore the distance from wrist to ground does not directly correlate with height. Maybe you just have short arms though haha. Im 6-4 and my clubs are all 3/4 of an inch taller.

    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
    • Day 96 (18 Mar 24) - Continued work with the Divot Board with the GW and hard foam balls.  Focused on small target/small miss…setup to hit target about 30yds out - success if it hit within 6’ circle of target, fail if outside.  Had decent success averaging about 3 out of 4 (hitting in groups of four).
