Just picked up an Adams Idea Pro 4i Hybrid, and I've got to say I've never been so excited about a new club before. Hitting this thing is like stealing! I've never hit a 4 iron (or any long iron) like this before. This club hits the ball high and straight, with seemingly little effort. On the 198 yard par 3 11th hole at Walkabout Golf Club in Mims, FL into a 15 mph headwind, I just smoked it dead straight. It landed soft and settled 4 feet from the pin. After we turned downwind, on the 14th tee I dropped in on the grass and hit it 230 down the middle off the tee, and on 16 It went 225 up the left side for a perfect angle to the green. You don't even need to tee it up. The 18th hole at Walkabout is 414 yards, into the wind on the second shot. I hit this Idea Pro 23 degree off the tee and again into the green to set up a 25 foot birdie to finish my round.

I can't wait to get the 2,3 and 5 to match! I have to thank Dana Quigley for turning me on to the Adams hybrids. I spoke to him at the tournament in Tampa last year and he told me the same thing he said in Golf Digest recently: "I've made $13 Million playing hybrids, why are average golfers still hitting long irons?"

That's great! I have the Rescue Dual 19* but and am thinking about getting another to replace my 3 iron. Have also thought about trying the Adams Idea Pro hybrids after they got the editors choice on the Hot List in Golf Digest. Good luck with the 2, 3, and 5s when you get 'em!

I played hybrids from Mizuno (FliHI irons), Nickent, and Bobby Jones last season. Finally, I landed some Adams Idea Pro 2 and 3 hybrids. I'll be adding a 4 this season. They are simply amazing. Unquestionably far and away the best of the lot. I suspect the Aldila VS proto blue "By You" shaft is part of the reason. The club feels tight but with sufficient kick at impact to launch it high and far. Really far.

I last played January 4. Hitting the #2 from rough on my second shot on a par five, the ball just lept out of a gnarly lie with such power I was stunned to the point I swore out loud. Just amazing. I think the #2 may be as long as my 3 wood.

I also think I want to try this shaft in a driver. Ping, I believe, lets you order it in a Rapture.

    • I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.
    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
