I'm interested in getting some new golf shoes. I currently play with Adidas Tour 360s which are widely loved but I can't say they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever played in. I'm interested in getting a set of Footjoys. I'm mainly concerned about comfort and support, the feet are your only connection to the ground and that is extremely important to the golf swing. That being said, I am not at all interested in the Reelfit....i just don't like the aesthetics of them.

Anyways, just curious as to what you guys think are the best footjoys in regards to performance and comfort.

Also, how do the Classics Dry Premiere feel? I'm not worried about price.

Have been playing DryJoys for the past six years - very happy with the shoe's durability and comfort. I play once a week, and have two pairs which I rotate. I just bought another pair to phase out one pair (3-years old) - like you, the look of the Reelfit did not appeal to me, so I bought the DryJoys P.R.O. I haven't tried them yet, so no opinion.

Haven't tried the Classics, but have heard good things on this forum and elsewhere. Footjoy's lineup is pretty insane - they have shoes from $50-$350!

I think like anything else, it's a matter of what feels good to you.

Clearly you have been buying shoes for yourself for your entire lifetime, and I think by now you know what feels good and what does not feel good.

With the advancements in shoe materials, very few shoes need the same kind of break-in, and subsequently the experience to know what will break in well and what won't, is not as critical as it used to be.

If the foot-joy fits, wear it.

Good luck with your search,

Footjoy GF II's, and Classics Tour are what I wear. Considering Reelfits though, because the really fit perfectly no joke. Footjoys for me virtually had no break in period just don't wear low socks the first few rounds if you buy the Classics Tour or Premier (the collar can be a bit bothersome).

Get to your proshop and go nuts trying stuff on! Do it in the afternoon or after a round so your foot can naturally swell. You'll get a truer fit that way.

This is going to sound funny but the most comfortable pair of golf shoes I've ever owned was a $40 pair of Green Joy's that look like Sierra Treks. I still use them. Mostly when I walk. I also have a pair of tan saddle Dryjoys and a black and white saddle Sierra's.

  • 3 weeks later...
I have been on a Footjoy golf shoe buying binge...The quality of fit and finish is fantastic (as is the price) for both the Classic Dry Premier and the Classic tour. I recommend both...I've got 3 pairs and 2 pairs, respectively. I just ordered some myjoys for s__ts and giggles and expect them in about 5 weeks...and I'll give a review of those.

If cost is no object, go with the Footjoy Classic Dry Premier or Classic Tours. The selection is varied and every pair I've ordered have been comfortable, provide a stable platform, and look fantastic.
