I checked out the upcoming Titleist drivers and I realized that D1 has a lie angle of 59 and D2 has 57. That is quite a lot of difference there. Do you happen to know why they designed it that way and how it could effect setup/performance? Also please feel free to write any information about these drivers. It's awesome that they will be coming with Aldila VS as a standard shaft.

the more upright angle of the D1 will help slicers.

Actually I think it has more to do with the distance between the sweetspot and the shaft axis. If you have the Jan07 issue of Golf Digest (Annika on the cover) Frank Talk, written by Frank Thomas, outlines this phenomenon on page 140.

that may be the more scientific description...i thought it was supposed to help the steep angles of attack that many cutters/slicers have...

The stock shafts for the upcoming 907D2 are listed at the link above.

Just wanted to get people's opinion about the YS-6+ shaft vs Titleist Spec Grid 67 shaft.

Torque of 3.5 (YS-6+) vs 3.9 (Titleist Spec Grid 67). Is that a noticeable difference?

Any shaft expert can help me out on this one? Thanks.

I've had the YS6 in my last two drivers the 905T and now the R. I like it... It really keeps me from over swinging because it requires smooth tempo. The smoother the swing the farther the ball goes with the YS6. I'm sure it's that way with all shafts but it's really noticeable with this one. Hope that helps a little.
