The Crossings in Carlbad, CA -- Is it walkable?

I am playing there for the first time. Is it a walkable course? Any tip?

No, I would say it is probably the least walkable course I've ever played.  There are some really long rides between greens to tee, and a couple holes on the back nine are so poorly layed out that you actually drive all the way along a long par 4 just to get to its tee.    The course is also a bit hilly, so you'd have a long, tough slog to walk it.     When you play it you'll wish you had the concrete-pouring contract for its construction, as they have miles and miles of very wide concrete cart paths.

I hope you enjoy it.  Frankly, I don't care for the course much.  I don't hate it, but just don't like it.     A lot of the green complexes seem designed by someone who hear contouring was good but had never actually played golf themselves.    Complaints about the course have management redoing some holes soon, but unfortunately they don't seem to be fixing the worst holes.     The course is only a few blocks from my office and even with that convenience I just never play it - there are so many better options in the area.

Thanks for the info, I will leave the push cart home. I am playing this Saturday to get ready for my tournament on the same course two weeks later.

Definitely don't walk!  I just played it once, and I see what Clambake is saying but didn't hate it as much.

Oh, and the putts break towards the sea!  I had a couple that looked like they broke slightly uphill!
