My father, brother and I are going to meet up near Cleveland, OH to play some golf. My brother did some research and selected Boulder Creek and Blue Heron, both in the Cleveland area. The golfclevelandohio.com website provided nice but brief reviews of the courses and the websites are nice.

I'm wondering if anyone has played them and has some thoughts on either. Thought you might have an idea Erik considering both courses are probably within 1.5 to 2 hours of you.

I haven't played either, but I hear Boulder Creek is pretty nice and Blue Heron is really very contrived and unenjoyable. "Hard" for the sake of being hard, and in stupid ways like chutes of fairways in places, that sort of thing.

Mind you, that's all hearsay, but the hearsayers have been pretty consistent. Do you have time to change your plans?

Boulder Creek: Great track...it'll be outstanding in another 2 years. It's a little "new" still

Blue Heron: Hard for the sake of being hard...not a fun course if you ask me.

I'm more familiar with the ones on the eastern side. Doug could give you some insight on ones to the west.

Blue Herron, in my opinion is just stupid. The first hole from the blue tees, a par 5, is like 240 to carry a ravine. Don't go right either. The ravine is there also.

It's target golf, but in the worst way. When you are hitting 3 irons off of the tee all day to keep from going long into a ravine thats no fun. I think I hit one driver all day.

Highly not enjoyable.
