Both of these drivers are similarly priced (at the moment) so I'm unsure of what sort of decision I should make. I was already intending on the Nike driver before I even knew Gigagolf existed. I've hit the Nike driver before; I didn't get any distance that was impressive, but I did hit it straight which is exciting.

I stumbled across Giga when I was browsing around here. I have full intentions of getting a Z4 iron set. I do enjoy a matching brand throughout the bag, but I also don't mind a mismatched driver. At the moment, Giga is offering a free shaft upgrade to the Graffaloy ProLaunch series which is what really made me wonder if the Nike was the best purchase.

To be as simplistic as possible, Giga Z4Ti with Graffaloy ProLaunch shaft or Nike SQ STR8-FIT?

I looked at GigaGolf when I was buying a new driver a coupe of weeks ago. I did like the free shaft upgrade. But I was able to find a used Callaway FT IQ in good condition, with an even better shaft for less than I could get the clone club. If the price is about the same, I'd get the Nike. The main advantage to the clones is price, take that out of the equation, and I would take the name brand item every time.

That's pretty much my sentiment. I may have been a bit hasty making this thread anyway. I see features that the Nike has that the Giga doesn't. After doing some further reading, I think I'll be picking up the Black version Nike; people are simply raving about the Fubiki shaft.

This will be my first experience with an adjustable driver. I'm looking forward to this.

Def. the Nike. Im sure the Giga is great, but Nikes stuff is fantastic. I really wished I would have tried Nikes before I bought my Woods a couple of years ago. Not that im upset I bought my raptures, they have been great clubs.

In the Ogio Kingpin bag:

Titleist 913 D2 9.5* w/ UST Mamiya ATTAS 3 80 w/ Harrison Shotmaker & Billy Bobs afternarket Hosel Adaptor (get this if you don't have it for your 913)
Wilson Staff Ci-11 4-GW (4I is out of the bag for a hybrid, PW and up were replaced by Edel Wedges)
TaylorMade RBZ 5 & 3 Fairway Woods

Cobra Baffler T-Rail 3 & 4 Hybrids

Edel Forged 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64* wedges (different wedges for different courses)

Seemore Si-4 Black Nickel Putter

Open Box Nike SQ MachSpeed Black Squared STR8-FIT Driver 10.5° Golf Club - $99

I just can't imagine a better deal. Sure the square is a weird shape, but that was the first thing that caught my eye. I read comments of people unhappy with the sound of it, but.....really? The sound? That's a legitimate con for a club? That is crazy to me.

I swung the previous version of it a few months ago and I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to hitting it soon.

Maybe consider the trx driver from Giga. I just bought the 3w and I can bomb it out farther than my friends driver. I don't have a driver to compare distance with, but if the 3w is like the driver it should be light and explosive not to mention pretty (I have the pearl version)

For that deal, like new never hit, I wouldn't pass it up. That's a great shaft and a great driver. The Giga is nice, but not that nice.

My Callaway has the Fubuki 63 x5ct shaft on it. (don't know what the abbreviations mean) Love my driver, if you can get past the odd shape, it's awesome.

"Each shaft for the retail after-market is usually designated by our company name: "Mitsubishi Rayon" (with the 3 diamond mark), followed by a weight designation (103, 93, 83, 73, 63, 53, 43), followed by "x5ct" which designates 5 carats, followed by the shaft flex. Example: Mitsubishi Rayon 73 x5ct flex - x. OEM shafts are marked in a different way to help identify the differences in the tip section, in addition to help distinguish OEM from retail after-market shafts. As a result, the "x5ct" marking is replaced with a "g 35 t" (for shafts with a 0.350 tip OD) or "g 4" t" (for shafts with a 4 inch parallel tip section) for all OEM shafts."

That shaft is "Made for" Nike not aftermarket so don't get too excited. Not to mention it's also an ultra lite which don't agree with some folks. FWIW, I'd put Giga's stuff up against any, clone or OEM.

I don't think a shaft being made for Nike versus the standard aftermarket one is inherently a bad thing per se. I could be very wrong; it's just an assumption that I wouldn't think that Fubiki would attach their name to a subpar item and nor would I think Nike would either.

I've read some great things about Giga this past week. I'm not going to lie; they really have me in their pocket. I'll, at minimum, be doing a full set of the Z4 irons and Giga wedges/putter. As far as the fairway woods go, I'm still relatively on the fence. The Nike SQ Machspeed fairway woods can be had new for about the same price as any of the Giga clubs. That's something I'll have to be thinking about. I'm severely lacking in the fairway wood department. I'm trying to decide if my next move would be the new woods (be them Nike or Giga) and stay with my current irons (Tommy Mann...gross), or move into the Z4 irons and leave my woods as they are (whatever offbrands they are..."Masters" I believe?).

You won't be disappointed in the Z4's if you're looking for that type of iron. One of several sets I've owned that are still here and I've owned and played a boatload.

That's a Ladies version. Still a good price if that suits you.

I'm looking for some quality irons that are relatively forgiving in contact. I do not hit irons well at all to be honest so I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of performance for some consistency overall (if that makes any sense). From what I've read around here, the Z4s seem to fit that bill the best. Though I would LOVE some black TRX irons.

I have the trx irons, not black though. They are great, the fitting helped a lot and I hit better with them. Off center hits still carry plenty far and thin shots are'nt as devestating. I really like the trx hybrid (s flex) and the fairway wood.
