Longer the shaft = greater the headache.

Have got 2 nice Cleveland hybrids, 23* & 18*, both with compact, dense and relatively heavy heads and moderate length shafts. I can hit both of them easily and consistently well.  If I need 165 or 185 I have little trouble getting a good result from these clubs. I feel my swing is smooth and controlled; the whole body working well together.

But damn, I cannot graduate to longer shafts, like esp the  driver. Just misery. Clubs between driver and hybrids, like 3 or 5 wood, offer fair but not great results. What is it about the long shaft that is ‘mucking me up’?
