okay here we go -- I play in a Skins game that has gross and net payouts, cannot win both. ( sometime 120 players)

it is a great deal- the extras you get for the price - thats why I am thinking to bring say 20 -24 players to enter form my Legion.

So - we play in the skins with our handicaps - record our normal scores and the course figures out the skins tourney winners...

and my guys play another tournament within that one...

each group would be a 4 some - so say 6 foursomes....  the question would be - what format would be best?

I can only see Best ball being the one to play -as each player has to play his own ball all the way on each hole for the skins.., so a scramble is out of the question...

and the one problem I see is we have HCaps as high as a 27 and low as a 7 in a foursome..

maybe hopeful thinking - solet me know what options are out there... Thanks

You could try your best to sort the players into 4 somes that have an A, B, C, and D player.  Rather than best ball, try best two balls so that it discourages picking up on a hole.

yes, the HC's are genuine - for example in my group we would have a 27 - 21 - 14 and a 7

who knows what the others are right now - or if  they have one...but I am sure they do if they are in the skins tournament.

I think what i may have to do is just do a scramble with some foursomes on another day.

trying to keep it easy on the brain.

. If all the handicaps are valid in your group of 24, you could simply do a blind draw beforehand for 2 man teams and play a net best ball game. Simple, fun, and with partners distributed throughout the group, no opportunity for anyone to cheat.

okay this blind draw - is it done before hand or after the round?

I like this, because the foursomes can play as friends not knowing who in the 24 will be their partner?

until - when?

whoops just saw the Before hand thing...  does it matter when you do the blind draw?

Either way. I prefer before, because I like the give and take and competitive gamesmanship throughout the day, but you can do it either way. You can also then pair partners together with another team if you want. That adds some fun to it too.....

    • I’m not sure I’m following you. My current plan is to take the bunkers out of play completely and hit something like a 6i to 130-150 range.
    • Day 139- Slow, swings with short practice club.
    • You might want to try a can of Bar Keepers Friend. Yes, it is abrasive, so just wet a sponge and dab it on. It has oxalic acid (no bleach like "Comet" kitchen cleanser), and it works wonders on stainless steel and other metals. Try it on a small area first to see what happens.
    • Fair   My uneducated thought: the big miss is the penalty area. If you want to optimize score, missing into the bunker (likely 5) is better than missing right into the penalty (possible 6). With that, your strategy seems sound and if you hit a committed shot, you get a bunker 5% of the time, take your medicine and hopefully get a putt for par but accept bogey. You may find yourself in a penalty situation 2-3% of the time and accept the associated outcome. The vast majority of the time though you are giving yourself a good approach shot into the green.
    • I walk 30 mins a day on my lunch break. It is not very intense (since i dont want to get sweaty in my work clothes), so just a touch above leisurely. 3 days a week I walk on the treadmill for 60 mins. I alternate the incline from 4 to 10 for a couple minutes, once every ten minutes. I lift my kettlebells nearly everyday. I have a couple complex routines. I find just 15 minutes and my heart rates is elevated
