Titleist Velocity or DT SoLo?

I've been playing a ProV1 for about 5 months and my handicap has shot through the roof. I have a slower swing speed and I tend to play a fade/slice 99.9% of the time. I'm also not very long because of this sometimes chronic slice.  Only recently did I realize I'm playing a ball thats exagerating my sidespin off the tee. The Titleist website doesnt really give too many specifics on the differences of their balls, so I'm torn between trying the Velocity or DT SoLo. My top priority is getting more distance by minimizing sidespin. I can sacrifice short game performance as I'd like to think I'm pretty decent with chipping and approach shots. Any suggestions which ball may be right for me? Thanks

I highly recommend DT Solos. I use DT Solos since I have a slow swing speed and still working on improving my swing. Its a low cost, high quality ball for low tier balls.

 

I find my DT Solos pretty forgiving on the greens.

 

Since my swing speed went up, I am considering going to NXTs (I got a box as a Xmas gift).

I've played both.  I feel like when I got ahold of it off the tee the Velocity gave me a few more yards, but I also feel like I hit the solo straight more often.

First off all, is there a reason why you want to stick with Titleist?  If you are unwilling to change brands then I would recommend the Solo's for the time being.  They are a great ball for higher handicap players.

 

If you're willing to change to a different brand then you can find some great, and cheap, golf balls that won't spin as much. 

 

ProV1's are a great ball but are very hard to control if you are prone to slice.
