Help with new club - Thinking of Taylormade MC

Hi I have been out of the game for 12 years now and finally have time to play again but club tech has moved on since my slazenger seve ballesteros club dating back much further than I would like to care.

I used to hit a score average of 83 of a par 71.

So do you think the Tayorlmade MC is suitable for to pick and start playing again and what type of shaft would you recommend?

As I don't want to say for example buy the taylormade burner clubs one day and then find I need to buy MC for better control.

 

All suggestions welcome.

Do you have a Golfsmith or Golf Galaxy nearby?  If so, go there and hit as many clubs as you can and find the one that feels comfortable for you.  I also took a 10-12 year layoff as well, but got back in the swing of things fairly quickly.  AFAIK, the general rule of thumb for shaft selection is:  Clubhead speed over 100mph = Stiff, 70mph - 100mph = Regular, Anything less than 70mph = Senior

Why buy just taylormade? Try Titleist, Cobra, Callaway, Nike, and Tour Edge.

Get the MC's. If you played the Slazenger "seve's" back in the day to a 10 or so cap, then you will have zero problems getting solid contact with TM MC irons. They will likely be more forgiving than your old clubs. As far as shafts go, this rule of thump is a good guide line ^^^^^^^^. Look into Project X shafts, there pretty cool, and carry lots of options to suit most swings.

 

What is it about the Taylor Made MC's that caught your eye?

Hi Thanks for all of your replies, I have no preference in club make or model its just that Taylormade just kept propping up when searching for clubs and I know its a good quality brand, the reviews are good just wanted your views which is much appreciated.
