Most concerned about the battery life. Anyone own this Bushnell GPS watch?  Online reviews say it generally lasts a few rounds before charging, but I'm skeptical.

I've got the Bushnell Neo Plus GPS unit. Not sure how similar they are but I'd make these comments:

1. Battery life is good, I reckon it's probably good for 3 or 4 rounds.

2. Data is bullshit rubbish bad. Bushnell hooks up with the igolf database. They say 27000 courses preloaded or whatever. Of the 20 different courses I've played since I got this (4 months ago) I reckon that nearly ALL have been inaccurate on a couple of holes or more. These include courses in Australia and Spain. Tech support are happy to take cards and remeasure but then there's a messy update function (you have to do it course by course, so what's happening with all the other updates they are presumably also doing?) and even then it's still wrong and the advice is to "redo the update".

I'd be interested to hear if others have the same experience and where they are based (Many US based companies do a great job in the US but quality falls over once you leave).

Footnote if you go ahead:

Their instructions are worng/out of date. When you're updating courses use Internet Explorer 8 or 9 but NOT the 64 bit version (use the 32 bit version).

There's a plugin you'll probably need to add. Good luck with that, it's a bitch.

You don't go to www.igolf.com like they say, go www.bushnell.igolf.com

All annoying niggles.

I want a user friendly product that is accurate, not mostly OK if you finesse it right. I do not recommend the NEO Plus.

Are you listening Bushnell?

Update. Picked one of these up and used it in a tournament last Sunday. Not only were playing partners impressed but the yardage was accurate and lasted the whole round full battery life. A++

Three rounds in and it is still3/4 battery life. Hasn't touched the charger since its first full charge when I first got it. Pretty impressive.

    • We do not buy extended warranties. We will use one of our credit cards for the purchase that extends the warranty "x 2". Our thoughts are: a. if the item is a lemon, it will likely break right away and we can attempt to apply the original warranty or credit card extension. b. over the long haul, we will probably save more money by not purchasing the extended warranty and fixing/junking broken items out of our own pocket. The important thing is to keep some records of purchases so one may make a claim under the manufacturer's warranty. I recently sent back some Footjoy shoes for leaking and Footjoy did a reat job of making the claim process work very well. I had the original receipt, warrant info and box. Easy peasy.

    • This is pretty much how I look at it.  I understand there are times when the piece of mind has value. I think over the long haul I'm money ahead by never buying the extended warrantee. Hell, What do I know? I went to Ch!cago PubIic SchooIs.
