I need some Taylor Made advice

The other day I purchased a Taylor Made R11 15.5 degree 3 wood on E-bay. The serial number is TF10572. When I received the head it looked good. I called Taylor Made customer service in CA to verify the serial number and they told me they had no records of that numer or the seller being an authorized seller.

I contacted the seller and they told me Taylor Made has no clue what the Tour clubs serial numbers are and they buy all their clubs directly from Taylormade.

Do I have a fake club or is Taylor Made not able to verify the authenticity of one of their heads?

I purchased the head from E-Bayer seller  "niblick-99"

He's scamming you. There is absolutely no reason why Taylormade doesn't have any record of that serial number.

File a claim with paypal immediately.

Why didn't you verify the serial number BEFORE making the purchase? Ebay is littered with fakes. I got scammed last year buying a Titleist 910D driver. Lucky I got my money back fairly quickly. I sent the club to Titleist, and they examined it, and ultimately destroyed it.

My fault for not checking first :-( He offered my money back. The seller already sold to 10,000 E-Bay buyers thinking he was legit the same as I did.
