I'm looking to upgrade my old Cleveland Comp 460 with Aldila NV-65 shaft. The only place around me that does fitting is a joke and has absolutely no selection so I'm hoping there are some equipment experts around here that can help me out.
Anyway, I always hit the ball really high which becomes a huge problem in the wind. I'm looking for a lower, boring ball flight and after a bit of research, it sounds like the 910d3 or 913d3 might be what I'm after. I'm wondering about the shafts in these clubs though. I read that the 913 series uses the actual manufacturer shafts whereas the 910 series uses "made for Titleist" shafts. Is this correct? If so, is there really a considerable difference between the two? I'd like to save a few bucks and go with the 910 but don't want to sacrifice too much performance.
In particular, I'm looking at the Diamana White 72 shaft. Does this seem to be a pretty good option for a lower spin, lower trajectory ball flight?
Also, does anybody know if the 913 series fairway woods also use the original manufacturer shafts? I'm looking at the 913f.d as an option off the tee on tighter holes.
Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
